We were all sprawled on the couch, with Lucas and Clara on either side of me. The TV was blaring with sounds from their favorite cartoon. Clara let out a giggle when the bunny hit a giant hammer on the duck’s head.
I glanced at her, a smile playing on my lips before the creak of the door opening took my attention. My head turned towards the door, and my smile became wider when I saw Rowland enter with a wide smile.
His expression radiated happiness, and my heart warmed at the sight. The children ran to greet him, which made the whole scene even cuter.
“Daddy!” They both yelled as they ran towards him. He bent down to pick Clara up as she ran to his arms. Lucas ran up to him and did a power move with his hands.
