One Wish
Ben went back to the hotel where they were staying. He showed the signed documents to his dad, who smiled. He called Vera to check on how things were running in his company and, more importantly, to check on what his assistant was doing. Vera told him every detail of what was happening at H&M. She told him how Evie stopped at every department in the company, her lunch schedules, and even how his assistant withdrew last week.
Ben and his father spent the night in the hotel, even though they both wanted to go back home as much as possible. They would not arrive before nightfall, even if they left immediately. He stopped working that night and waited until the next morning to leave.
