Chapter Two

1073 Words
Freya “Arrest her!" Two hefty men charged at me. Pulling my arms into a lock, I was dragged into my family's house. The front door yanked from the side, broken glass shattered everywhere. The first thing that caught my eyes when I was dragged into the living room was my family's portrait broken and dangling one side on the wall. “Beta Fallon, we have found the baker's daughter." One of the guards pushed me to the ground and I scraped my knees in the process. “Freya, no. You shouldn't have come back. Please don't harm my daughter," my mom cried. Her face was badly battered and Dad was nowhere in sight. “Silence you witch!" Beta Fallon smacked her face, forcing her to the floor. “No Mom!" I tried to break free from the men holding me but that earned me a good blow on my stomach. “Beta Fallon, please don't do this," I begged as he pulled my mom by her hair. Beta Fallon was Lilia's father. He was a family friend my father trusted so much. But seeing him hit my mother changed him into a whole different person. He was always gentle and kind. I never thought that I would see a side of him so violent and brutal. He trudged over to where I was kneeling and smacked my cheek. “Shut up you b***h! Your sins have finally been exposed. Today, you and your family are going to face the consequences of exiting," he said, then gestured to one of his men to drag me out. I was taken to the pack's dungeon. A place I never thought I would ever be in. The floors were stained with dried blood and a pungent smell of rotten body oozed from the cells. “Please, wait, my family is innocent." No one listened to me. “Shut up, b***h!" One of the guards pushed me into the cell. I couldn't think of anything that would cause such accusations to arise. My parents were never the kind to look for trouble. I never tried to flap my wings higher than they should be. So where did we go wrong? After a few minutes of spending time in the cell. The clicking sound of heels stalked in the dungeon, followed by a familiar scent. Seconds later Lilia stood before me, dressed in an elegant uniform with a familiar badge on her right chest. “Lilia, thank goodness you are here. Please, tell your Dad that my family is innocent." I reached out to hold her hand but she swatted it away. “Don't touch me, you disgusting b***h!" She scoffed, shocking me at the same time. “I don't understand. What is wrong with you?" “Freya, stop acting innocent. I know what you did to the festival's cake. You poisoned it," Lilia accused me and I was thrown aback. “That's not true, Lilia. You bought the cake, we were going to deliver it together but I left for the bathroom. You know that I would never do such a thing," I defended myself but a smile cracked on her face and she began to laugh hysterically. I looked at her confused as she threw herself backwards laughing. “You are so dumb. I poisoned the cake so that you could fall. Do you think I will stand and watch you get a chance to study at Egret academy while I stay back here in this boring pack. I had to seize my chance to get what I wanted and luckily for me, you were too easy to convince," she revealed, snickering in the end. “You did this?!" I gritted my teeth, rage growing within me the moment I heard the truth from her. The shock I felt before disappeared and turned into rage in seconds. “Well, you don't have to fight yourself for being gullible. The Alpha has ordered for your family's public execution. I am pretty sure, by now your father's head has been decapitated." She roared out another laughter. “How could you?!" I growled. Lilia staggered backwards, her eyes dilating in fear as if she had seen a ghost. “Monster!" She screamed. “You are a monster! It doesn't matter anyway. You are going to die and that monster will die as well. I will go to Egret academy and become the most powerful Luna for the Lycan king," she declared before running out of the dungeon. Enraged by her betrayal, I found myself roaring. The walls of the dungeon shook and the floors began to c***k. The rage I felt began to manifest into reality and a power I had never felt before began to surge through my veins. Just when I was about to let out another roar, I heard a familiar voice. “Freya!" “Freya, Mommy is here. Please, I need you to calm down," her voice slowly calmed me down and I finally saw my Mom standing in front of me. “Mom, what happened?" I asked, looking at her in horror. Her whole body was covered in blood, and arrows pierced her back mercilessly. “You have to escape from here," she said, her voice almost a whisper. “What about Dad?" I asked, tears rolling down my eyes at the sight of her injuries. “They killed him," she muttered and pain struck my chest like a hammer. “You have to run." She placed a jade pendant and a card in my hand. “Go to the East land, there you will find the truth. No one will know about you until you find the celestial," she muttered, placing her hand on my forehead. She chanted some words then placed another item in my hand. “Find that witch!" Some guards yelled as they approached the dungeon. “This will take you to the place where it all started. I am sorry I can't be with you and your siblings. Please, take care of yourself." She said with tears in her eyes. I held onto her crying as she detached herself from me. “Please, Mom. Don't go. Please!" Another arrow flew to her chest and she slumped to the ground. “Mom!" I screamed, holding her hand as life slowly left her eyes. She muttered something as her blue eyes turned black and I fell to the ground losing consciousness.
