We were standing watching the games when Kael walked out onto the field and I watched him immediately command everyone's attention like he always did. He had this presence, this confidence that came from four years of never losing, of being faster than everyone else.
"Who's willing to challenge me to a sprint this year?" he called out, his voice carrying across the entire grounds and everyone went quiet to listen. "Anyone at all? I'm waiting for someone brave enough to step up because I've been doing this for four years and nobody's managed to beat me yet, so if you think you're the one, come on down."
He stood there with his arms crossed, looking around at all the faces in the crowd like he was waiting for someone to prove him wrong, but they all just looked away.
