Lucas's POV:
That same waiter came inside with a plate in his one hand. He smiled at her and placed the plate on her side.
“Your favorite chicken noodles, sis. Sir, what would you like to order?" he said to her and asked me.
I looked at him and her, confused. She nudged my shoulder, taking me out of my own world. I looked at her with a confused expression.
“I don't know what to order," I said, and she gave me a look and whispered something to the boy.
He went outside and came back with a plate within a few minutes. He placed it on my side and left after smiling at her. Then, a waitress came inside and poured water into our glasses. That waitress signed something to my kidnapper, and she also responded in sign language, confirming that the waitress couldn't hear.
Then she left, leaving me alone with my kidnapper. She started to eat her noodles, and I looked at my plate. I guessed it was parotta because I had eaten it when I was in India for a business trip. She signaled for me to eat, and I did the same, having no idea what else to do and being hungry as well.
We washed our hands after eating and started to talk. She was the one who started asking questions.
“So, how was the parotta?" she asked. I just nodded my head.
“This is the best parotta I have ever tasted. That's why I ordered it for you," she said, and I nodded, still not knowing what to say.
“Okay, do you work there?" she asked and waited for my answer.
What could I tell her? I didn't want her to know that I'm the devil. What if she stopped talking to me? She is the only person talking to me. But then, I didn't want to lie to her. What should I do now? So, I sat silent, not wanting to answer her question.
“If you don't want to answer, it's fine. At least tell me your name," she asked. I didn't want to answer, but I started to ask her questions instead.
“What is your name?" I asked, trying to hide my identity.
“I'm Aadhira. Now tell me your name," she asked again.
So, her name is Aadhira. Sweet but psycho and a little smart. Now, how can I escape from her questions?
“Fine, but promise me that you won't tell anyone that I sneaked into that office. Especially don't tell the main bodyguard of your boss. If you break your promise, then I'll cut your tongue and make you eat it," she warned me, or rather tried to warn me.
I controlled my laugh by biting my lips when I saw her serious face. She is so cute when she is angry. She pouted when she noticed that her threat didn't work on me. I had dinner with a cute psycho today.
Then I remembered something that I needed to ask her.
Aadhira's POV:
I don't know why I feel safe around him. I feel that I'm behaving differently in front of him. His expression changed slightly, and he started to ask me questions.
“It's not safe for girls to come outside at night. You saw that just a few minutes ago, and here you are spending time with some stranger. Why did you come out at night, and how will you go back to your house?" he asked me with so much concern in his eyes.
That concern I saw in his eyes is so familiar to me. I saw the same thing in my family's eyes. I just smiled and replied to him.
“I'm safe." He looked at me like I'm some psycho when I said this.
Lucas's POV:
Why is she so careless? Can't she understand what I'm asking her? I want her to be safe. That was the question I wanted to ask her. How can she go back home at night? This protective feeling inside me is foreign to my heart.
“What were you doing in that office at this late hour?" I asked her, wanting to know what was so important that she was roaming around at night.
“I came to insert my resume in tomorrow's interview list because I forgot to send it before," she replied in a low voice.
Is this the reason she is putting her life in danger? Just for an interview?
Wait... What? Interview?
Is she going to attend tomorrow's interview? Wow! What the hell? I'm both happy and tense now.
I'm happy that she can easily become my PA, and I can spend a lot of time with her. But I'm afraid of her reaction when I reveal my identity.
“Why? Is that interview important to you?" I asked her again, confused.
“Yes, very important. I challenged Varun that I'll definitely become his devil's assistant," she said, and I became sad and confused.
She is only calling me a devil, but she is not completely calling me a devil. She is calling me Varun's devil.
“What do you mean by 'his devil'? How do you know Varun?" I asked her the last question in a low voice, afraid of something.
“Yes, Varun always calls your boss a devil. He always blabbers, 'today the devil did this' and 'he fired his assistant again,' and 'you can't even stand in front of him.' You know what? He challenged me that I can't become his assistant and even if I do, I can't last more than two days. So, I really want to join as PA to your boss and show Varun that I can do anything," she said, and I'm fuming with anger here.
How can Varun tell her about me like that? Everyone knows me like that, but I don't want her to know me like that.
Can I kill Varun? I asked myself, and my common sense replied to me without wasting another second.
'Don't do that, stupid. First, ask her if Varun is her boyfriend or not.' My common sense is always right. First, I need to clear my doubt.
