Chapter 6. Rules and Regulations

Lana looked again, furrowing her eyebrows to make sure her eyes weren't deceiving. "That's that annoying guy," she said irritably. Lana opened the back door and told her mother that she wanted to return the jacket to its owner. Lana's mother turned to the rear window and sure enough, she saw a scruffy-looking guy leaning against his motorcycle. "Just a minute, Mom." The beautiful woman in the car nodded, and Lana walked over to Noah. "This is your jacket, and I don't need it anymore." Lana handed him the jacket a little roughly and irritably. Lana did this not because of anything in particular, but because she remembered the item Noah was carrying. Lana thought Noah was not a good guy because if he were, he would not keep such an item. "Hey! Can't you give me my jacket back nicely and politely? At least say thank you!" Noah exclaimed angrily. Lana, who was about to turn away, looked back at Noah. "What did you say? Be polite and say thank you?" Lana looked at Noah in disbelief. "Yes, because thanks to my jacket, you didn't get sick." "Thank you! Thanks to your jacket, I got in trouble at school." "Trouble? What do you mean?" Noah looked confused by what Lana had said. "Lana...! Let's go home!" her mother shouted, who had come out of the car. Lana immediately turned around and left. Lana got into the car, and of course Noah was very surprised. What was wrong with that girl? In the car, Lana remained silent. "Lana, I don't want you to be friends with a delinquent like him. It's enough that you just met him this morning. I don't want you to get to know him better. Just look at his messy appearance, not to mention that he likes to carry things like that." Lana just nodded her head and now she was looking out the car window. *** "Lana, what's wrong?" asked the teenage boy next to Lana. Yes, Lana had arrived home and was sitting back casually on the long sofa in the living room. "I'm fine, Leon," Lana replied lazily. "Fine? Don't lie to me. Why were Mom and Dad called to the teacher's office? What did you do at school? I was really shocked when I found out about it. Lana, who is innocent and the apple of Mom and Dad's eye, was called to the teacher's office," Leon's voice seemed to tease his sister. Lana looked lazily at her brother, who was indeed very nosy. Lana took her bag and walked lazily upstairs. "Lana, have lunch first!" her mother ordered. "Later, Mom. I want to lie down in my room for a while," Lana replied without looking at her mother, and she went upstairs to her room. "Huff!" Lana carelessly threw herself onto her soft mattress. "No one is allowed to be friends. Then who should I be friends with? The stars in the sky?" Lana grumbled to herself in her room. Soon, Lana's cell phone rang. She reached into her bag and took out her phone. Lana saw that it was her best friend calling. "The curly-haired one, why is she calling me?" "Lana!" she exclaimed quickly. "What is it?" Lana replied lazily. "Are you okay? Did your mom and dad scold you badly? They're being so unreasonable, it's just a small thing, why are they acting like that?" "I'm fine, but from now on I'm not allowed to be friends with you and the guy with the jacket." "What?! The guy with the jacket? Did you meet him?" "Yes, he was in front of the school earlier and I returned his jacket and his strange object." "Yeah...! Why didn't you tell me earlier?" she said angrily. "What for? Never mind! What's wrong? Why did you call me?" "Look, Lana. Can you come with me to my boyfriend's sister's birthday party tomorrow night? I'm sure you'll like it, it'll be fun." "Come to a party? You're crazy for asking me to come to a party?" "Why? Are you afraid your parents won't let you? Lana, you're an adult now, and we'll be graduating soon. How long are you going to stay locked up in the house like a living mannequin? Besides, it's just a birthday party, and it won't last until late at night. Come on! Try to have some fun for once." "I can't go, and you can go by yourself." "You have to come, and I'll follow you to your house if I have to," he threatened. "You're completely crazy! Do you want my mom to kick you out, and then she'll never let me be friends with you again, not even if we're a meter apart?" "Lana, I feel sorry for you. As a good friend, I want you to be happy too. Don't stay trapped like this." "I can't come." Lana then hung up the phone. Lana breathed a sigh of relief. Was she going to the party? Especially with that curly-haired guy? It was a dream that would never come true. "Lana." Suddenly, Lana's younger brother appeared from behind the door. "Don't you want to come down to eat? Mom told me to call you for dinner." Leon then walked into Lana's room. "I'll eat later. I'm not hungry right now." "What's wrong with you?" "I'm tired and bored." "I'm also bored with our family life." Leon lay down next to Lana. "That curly-haired guy called me earlier. He wants to take me to his girlfriend's younger sister's birthday party." Lana chuckled. "He's crazy, Leon." "Why are you saying he's crazy? He's your good friend, so it's only natural that he wants to take you so you can have fun." “A party? Do you think Mom and Dad will allow it? Dream on,” Lana emphasized those words. Leon thought for a moment. “I have an idea. You don’t need to ask for permission. You definitely don’t want to lie to Mom and Dad, so I’ll take care of it.” Leon quickly got out of bed and left Lana’s room. Lana looked confused by her younger brother's attitude. What was he planning? Lana was afraid she would get into trouble again because of her brother's actions. Lana immediately followed him downstairs and went straight to the dining room. Lana saw Leon standing in front of the dining table. "Mom, can I ask for something?" he asked quickly. "Leon!" Lana grabbed her brother's arm. She didn't want Leon to do anything that would get them into trouble. Lana knew her mother's temper very well. "Come on, Lana! We're both tired of this," Leon whined. The beautiful woman sitting at the dining table looked at Lana and Leon with a confused expression.
