The air between us felt thick, heavy, like something was about to break. I couldn’t ignore the way he was looking at me, those dark eyes, full of intensity, like he was seeing right through me, past all the walls I’d carefully built.
I could feel the pull, something magnetic drawing me closer to him, something I hadn’t felt in a long time.
