Wren I woke to pale gold light spilling across my sheets, my body still humming with the ghost of Damon’s hands. For one disorienting second, I forgot forgot the interrupted kisses, the almosts, the way he’d looked at me like I was oxygen and he’d been drowning for years. Then memory crashed in, brutal and bright. He’d left when I went to get Liam water and tuck him in.
