I stood frozen in place, my heart pounding in my chest. I could barely believe what had happened, one minute we were talking and the next Johnny was kissing me. And to top it all, Sarah had seen Johnny kiss me.
Sarah's face was contorted with rage, her eyes blazing with fury. "How dare you!" she hissed, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'll tell Father and the elders about this. You'll be punished for your betrayal!" my stomach twisted into knots, my mind racing as I tried to think of a way out of this mess.
"Please, Sarah," I pleaded, but it felt like my words angered her the more.
"Johnny please talk to her" I screamed at Johnny.
Sarah turned to me, her eyes blazing red as she screamed "Don't mention his name, you b***h" the felt the intensity of her power.
I may be an Alpha's daughter, but Sarah had a wolf and I was nothing but a runt, I bowed my head in submission. I knew I was in a mess and nothing not even Johnny could save me from this one.
The world felt tumbling, I couldn't tell if it was the impending fear of my father's wrath or the brutal force of Sarah's slap.
I betrayed her trust, but her father has always wanted an excuse to punish me, I feared my fate as I watched an angry Sarah storm off.
As Johnny turned to leave, he hesitated, clearly conflicted. But I waved him away, "Go to her, I need a moment alone," I said. I needed to be alone to process the events of the evening.
With Johnny and Sarah gone, I fell to my knees as tears flowed freely, and I berated myself for falling into the trap of believing that I could ever be more than just a pack servant.
As I cried I could only pray to the moon that the repercussions of my actions wouldn't be too severe.
I sat alone in the dark, wrapped in misery, wondering how I could ever make things right.
Hours later, a pack member came to find me, delivering the news that my father requested an audience with me. My stomach was knotted with dread as I made my way to the pack house. The hallway to my father's office looked dark and lonely, I could already picture my father's disapproving gaze. The door to his office loomed before me, I took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
"come in" his voice thundered from inside the room and with a deep breath I walked in.
As I stepped inside, my father sat behind his desk, his expression grave. "what have you done?" he asked, his voice tinged with disappointment.
Beside him stood Sarah, her gaze was icy as it bored into me, and her lips pulled into a sneer of disdain. It was clear that she considered me to be beneath her.
I felt like an insect under a microscope, being examined and judged by someone who held all the power, It was a deeply uncomfortable and demoralizing feeling.
I swallowed hard, knowing that there was no point in trying to deny what had happened.
As I struggled to find the words to defend myself, I glanced at Johnny searching for support. But he was silent, his eyes downcast, and I knew that I was on my own.
Taking a deep breath, I gathered my courage and tried to find the right words to explain what had happened. But before I could speak, my father's voice cut through the silence like a knife. "Enough!" he barked, his tone brooking no argument.
The Alpha's imposing presence filled the room as he rose to his feet, his hands resting on the desk. He was a towering figure, his features hard and unyielding. I felt small and insignificant in comparison, the air around me growing with dread.
His words rang out like a death sentence, and I knew that the council of elders would not be merciful.
My fate was in their hands, and I could only hope that they would see reason. But as I looked at my father's stony expression, I knew that reason was the last thing on his mind.
At the Alpha's command, guards stepped forward, their faces hard and unfeeling. They grasped me by my arms and began to drag me out of the room with my feet stumbling against the floor. I struggled to catch my breath, the air in the room growing thick and suffocating.
As the guards roughly dragged me down the hall, the sound of my father's voice echoed in my ears. "Do not let her out," he had said. "Serve her only water." The words echoed like a death knell. I knew that I was facing a bleak future.
I sat huddled against the cold stone wall, in the dank darkness of the dungeon. I had no warm clothes or blanket, I wrapped my arms around my knees, as I tried to find comfort in my embrace. But this solitude was overwhelming, and I could feel the walls closing in on me.
It had been three days since the guards had locked me here. I had been given only a meagre bowl of water, and the gnawing hunger in my stomach was only matched by the deep ache in my heart.
I knew that my fate would soon be decided, but I couldn't bear to think about what that might mean.
The door to the dungeon creaked open, and a shaft of light spilt across the floor. My head jerked up at the sound of the voice.
"You are to be released," the man said, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "Come with me."
The sudden brightness hurt my eyes as I tried to adjust to the new intrusion. My legs shook as I took a step towards the door. I had no idea what my fate was, but it was better than this dark and lonely cell.
