Not everybody looked good in green, Faye knew this. However, as she stood admiring the rich green dress Ronnie had created for Grace, Faye also knew down to the tips of her toes that her friend would look splendid in it on her birthday.
“You’ve really outdone yourself, darling,” she said, pleased and somewhat in awe of what Ronnie could do with a few yards of fabric and a little time.
Ronnie beamed. “You like it?”
“Like it?” Faye held the shimmery silk between her fingers, pulling out the skirt and letting it fall back against the mannequin Ronnie had borrowed from Grace’s costume department. “I love it!”
