Chapter 31

1250 Words

CHAPTER 31 Lincoln couldn’t catch his breath–and it wasn’t because of fighting off the b****y cockatoos. Grace Woods was in his living room. She was in her pajamas, backed up against the wall, her hair a crazy mess, her eyes a little wild, but it was still her in the flesh. Everything about her took his breath away. As they stared at each other, recovering from their battle with Fred and Ginger, Grace found her voice, “Two!? There’s only two of them!?” Lincoln glanced at Fred and Ginger bobbing up and down in front of the glass door, waiting for him to go outside and give them a treat. He looked back at Grace, alarmed and disheveled, bearing his handprints in wood stain on her white tank top where he had grabbed her to pull her back inside. The whole scene was so bizarre it was funny.
