CHAPTER 12 “I saw a whale!” Grace shouted. Hands clutching the steering wheel, eyes frozen on the waves, she heard Lincoln burst out of the hatch. He was at her side in a split second, which was good because Grace thought she might faint. With both of her hands white-knuckling the steering wheel, she was managing to stand even though her body trembled, but she wasn’t sure how long she could hold on. “A whale? Where?” He scanned the waters in the distance. Grace shook her head vehemently. “No! Not out there. Right here!” She couldn’t point since her hands were stuck to the steering wheel. Grace nodded her head repeatedly in the direction where she had seen some kind of giant mass lift up out of the ocean next to the Lady Jane. “Right next to the boat?” “Yes, right next to the boat,”
