CHAPTER 20 Lincoln had spent all week on his knees and he was ready for a drink. Every inch of flooring in the hill house, except for the bathrooms, was gorgeous Mackay Cedar. All of it beautiful, all of it needing sanding. Even if Lincoln could afford the expense of buying or renting a big mechanical sander, he would have had a time getting it to the island. His answer to this problem was to throw on knee protectors, get on all fours, and sand each board by hand, making repairs where needed as he moved through the house.
