CHAPTER 28 Lincoln was finally done sanding the cedar floors. A job well done, if only half done. The staining would have to wait until morning, because his shoulders were aching. “Not a young buck anymore,” he muttered to himself as he popped the cap off of a bottle of beer and took a pull. “Have a go, mate!” Fred called out to him from where he was perched on the far corner of the deck. Lincoln eyed the big bird then tipped his beer bottle at him. “You stay out of it. Where’s your missus anyway?” Fred bobbed his head up and down vigorously then squawked again, “Have a go, mate!” before flying away.
