CHAPTER THREE

825 Words
"He is married!” This was the umpteenth time Ariadne was yelling this at her best friend. Allison sighed, “he's married? Then move on…gosh I'm tired of saying this” “It's not that easy Alli, whenever I see him…I feel like a piece of my soul is with him, I know that it's inappropriate for me to say this considering the fact that just some weeks ago I was still married to Jayson and was blindly in love with him….but…I don't know how to explain this” Ariadne cried, the confusion and torn look in her eyes was enough to make Allison's heart, break. Allison sighed and pulled her closer, rubbing her head soothingly. Ariadne was a person who found it difficult to express her feelings but that didn't stop that fact that she loved wholeheartedly, once she had fallen for someone, she would find it difficult to extricate herself. This was one of the reasons why she had insisted on getting married to Jayson even though she had initially noticed some red flags in him. “It's not your fault that he's a married hot sexy man” Allison consoled. Ariadne chuckled and nudged into Allison's arms, using her hair to rub on Allison's chest “yeah, it's totally his fault, he knew that he was married yet he still insisted on being hot”. The two friends laughed out loud at this. © “Come here Chanel! It's time for you to have your afternoon shower!” Ariadne said to the giggling little girl who was running around the room. “You can't catch me! I'm stronger and faster than you are!” Chanel giggled. The little girl was dressed in nothing but her favorite ladybug underwear and a singlet. They were both in Chanel's room in her father's apartment as Chanel usually stayed with her Dad on Thursdays and Fridays. Ariadne was finding herself enjoying the job of taking care of Chanel, she had grown to adore the little girl and sometimes she even wished the child was hers. But at times, she noticed that the child was melancholy and behaved like an adult, in fact she spoke clearly unlike other kids of her age and never disobeyed orders. She was too behaved for a little girl unlike the way her mother thought of her as mischievous and naughty, this made Ariadne wonder if the rich had another meaning for mischievous. Ariadne chased the little girl around the room and when she finally caught her, the both of them collapsed on a heap on the floor, laughing and chortling. After they were done having fun, Ariadne led her to the bathroom where she bath the little girl and dressed her up “I feel so squeaky clean,” Chanel beamed, showing all her teeth. Ariadne smiled at her gently while tucking her in. Just as the little girl had fallen asleep, Ariadne heard a loud noise coming from the outside of the room. “Stop this Gracy, we have a guest at home!” Ariadne furrowed her brows, not knowing what was going on. “Why should I? You have refused to come home for how many months now and yet you keep on giving me lies!” This time it was a feminine voice which Ariadne recognized to belong to Mrs Black. “So her name is Gracy,” Ariadne thought with a lowered head. “You want me to come back to that hell hole of a house! A place where I won't have any piece of mind?” It was Mr Black talking this time, his voice was filled with agony and anger. “It is for better for worse, Sven, whether you like it or not! You want to divorce me just because I cheated? Or because of what?!” Gracy yelled. Ariadne gasped in shock, she felt like she had just heard something that was supposed to be a secret. “You see that's exactly the problem with you, doing irresponsible things and feeling like no one should hold you accountable, Grow up for chrissake Gracy!, you are no longer a little girl whose parents would solve all her problems for her” he chided “I'm giving you the divorce papers tomorrow, make sure to sign it if you don't want me to take you to court” Sven threatened. “How could you be so selfish! Have you thought about Chanel and how she would feel? You want to leave me and my daughter all alone! You want to divorce me because of your mistress right!” Gravy yelled, her voice was so loud that it made Ariadne wince, she looked at Chanel who was sleeping on the bed and when she saw that the little girl was still sleeping undisturbed, she heaved a sigh of relief while facing the door. With the aim of listening more to what was going on.
