Aria's POV 35

1007 Words
"My fantasies?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. A sudden wave of heat rushed up my neck and flushed my cheeks. The air in the dusty room felt completely suffocating as I took in a deep breath. Damian did not back down, he just took a small step closer wuth his eyes scanning my burning face with an intense focus. "I have never heard you talk about your love life or any love interests," Damian said, his deep voice carrying a smooth steady rhythm. "Whenever the topic comes up, you just mention that it is complicated. But now I'm curious and I want to know." "You want to know?" I repeated, my mind struggling to keep up with the shift. "Yes," Damian said, tilting his head slightly to the side. "I want to know what type of man you actually like. What kind of attributes you look for in a man... and maybe if d**k size matters to you." I stared up at him, completely shocked and confused at the sudden topic he. My jaw dropped slightly, my throat felt bone dry as I tried to process his words before I could give him an answer. What is wrong with him? my mind screamed. Why is he cornering me down here with these insane questions? "Where is all of this coming from?" I asked, my hands trembling as I cluthed the sides of my skirt. "Why are you asking me these things down here?" "I am just curious Aria," Damian said softly, a small dark smirk playing at the edge of his lips. "Consider it getting to know my partner better." Partner? the word rang in my mind, i wasn't his partner... in fighting yes but his questions didn't have anything to do with fighting. He didn't stop there. He leaned in a bit more, his gaze dropping to my collarbone before sliding back up to my eyes. "Do you ever even get horny Aria?" he asked, his voice low and teasing. "Or do you just bury all of that beneath your little it's comlicated act? What turns you on? Is it gentle touch, or do you need someone to get rough with you? How does a man get you turned on?" My breath hitched in my throat as the barrage of weird, uncomfortable questions hit me. "Damian, stop—" "I just wonder," he cut in smoothly, stepping closer until he towered over me...his shadow covered me completely. "What does it take to get a reaction out of you? Is it words or does someone have to put their hands on you? Tell me... what are your real fantasies?" He thinks he can just unravel me .... Iwas felt uncomfortable and panic mixed with disgust as my pulse hammered against my ribs. He thinks because we are aligned, he owns every private corner of my mind. "I... I do not..." I stammered, scrambling for words as my heart raced in my chest. Damian leaned down, his face lingering right next to mine, his warm breath brushing against my burning skin. "Or maybe," Damian whispered, his voice dropping into a low, dangerous rumble, "you would like me to help you explore them?" The moment those words left his mouth, a violent jolt shot through my entire body and everything flashed back in a blinding, terrifying second. I saw Kael’s face, when he was on top of me. I remembered the exact way Kael had leaned in just like this, his smooth voice convincing me to trust him, whispering to me to explore his fantasies with him. I remembered the foolish way I had agreed just to satisfy him....lowering my guard and letting him close... only for his hands to lock around my neck. I remembered the terror of his fingers crushing my windpipe, the agony of gasping for air, and the sound of my own throat cracking as he choked the life out of me until everything went black. Not again, my mind shrieked in absolute horror. I will never let another man corner me like this again! Panic exploded in my chest like a grenade. "NO!" I screamed, my hands slamming against Damian's chest with all the strength I had. I shoved him back with violent force. Taken completely off guard, Damian stumbled a step backward, his eyes widening in shock as I scrambled up from the dusty floor, my heart hammering against my ribs like a trapped bird. "Stay away from me!" I yelled, my breath coming in short, panicked gasps as I pointed a shaking finger at him. "Never ask me such questions ever again! Do you hear me? Do not ever get this close to me again!" Damian raised his hands, his expression shifting from surprise to confusion. "Aria, relax. I was just—" "No!" I argued back, cutting him off before he could even finish his sentence. My chest was heaving as tears of pure rage and trauma burned behind my eyes. "I will not repeat myself, Damian! Back off!" He has no idea what he just touched, I thought, my entire body trembling as the dark memory clawed at my chest. He thinks this is a game. He has no idea I already died once because I let a man get this close. I bent down with shaking hands, grabbed the stack of papers from the crate, and pulled them tightly against my chest like a shield. "I am taking my files and leaving," I spat out, turning toward the open doorway. Damian’s eyebrows shot up. "Your files?" I stopped in my tracks, catching my slip-up before it could destroy everything. I took a deep, shaky breath, hardening my expression as I looked back at him over my shoulder. "The Alpha's files," I corrected coldly, my voice dripping with ice. "I am taking the Alpha's files back to his study." " Aria , wait let me-" " Save it," without waiting for him to say another word, I brushed past him and hurried out of the dark archives.
