Aria's POV 4

1047 Words
We made our way back to Silverfang pack, everything was exactly the same way l left it, but I almost broke down in tears when I saw my mother exiting the pack house bawling in tears. My first instinct was to run after her and comfort her but I couldn’t, all I could do was watch her . I felt the urge to run after her, wipe her tears and tell her I was alive, but just in a different body . I closed my eyes, not wanting to watch this unfold but Damian reached out for my hand gesturing towards the entrance. When we walked in, the entire had a sudden shift to it like it signaled my return. Even Damian stood still for a moment and looked around. “ Let me find Kael, I’ll be right back, feel free to take a seat in the hall. “ “ Sure thing,” I took some steps forward and remembered the dining hall was on the other side. If I made my way there it would be very suspicious. “Where’s the dining hall ?” “ Sorry, my bad … go straight ahead, second turn to your right and first turn to your left. We’ll meet you there.” I headed there and sat, anticipating and waiting for him but to my surprise he just returned with Natalie. I frowned but on the other hand , my heart felt light because Natalie. She was the maid that served me and over the years ger and I built a relationship beyond titles. “Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get Kael to come, but this is Natalie , she’ll help and show you around.” “ Thank you so much,” I said and he nodded and left. I turned to Natalie, my poor Natalie, her eyes were so red and sore and if I could guess why… it was because of my death, she was more than a maid to me, she was more of an elder sister I never had …we shared so many moments and secrets.Seeing her in such a state made my heart break and it ached to hug and comfort her and wipe her tears away. Did Kael ever think of how my death of going to affect a lot of people? What was his motive really now more than ever I wanted to know why. “ Sorry,” Natalie said sniffling. “ As mentioned earlier, my name is Natalie, let me show you to your quarters.” But she paused and looked around. “ Where are your bags?” “ Bags,” I repeated , there was no way I was going to carry those ugly dresses I had found in Aria’s closet.“ I was attacked by rogues and I dropped them when I tried to run away, you know to leave the extra weight.” But my words must have hit a spot because she started to tear up. I couldn’t resist it anymore, I walked forward and pulled ger into a hug as she sobbed uncontrollably. “ It’s okay, let it all out,” I whispered, rubbing her back. “ Thank you, I needed that.” She said pulling away. “ Let me take you to your quarters before my dam breaks again.” We walked to my quarters and she introduced me to everyone else who I already knew of course but pretended I didn’t. Bullying was the least of my worries. I wasn't afraid at all because unlike Aria’s pack members I taught mine to be empathetic and mindful so there was no way any of them would make fun of me. “ If you need anything at all , just let me know okay?” I needed something of course, but not for me … for her. “ Can you show me to the kitchen ?” I asked and she nodded leading the way as I followed behind. The kitchen was so quiet and empty. “ Where’s everyone?” “ After our Luna’s death, the Alpha gave everyone some time off to mourn.” The kitchen is ones of my favorite places, I spent time my times cooking with everyone I had so many loving memories in this pack house and I couldn’t do them anymore. “ May I please have some water, a pot and show me where your tea cabinet is.” We always had a cabinet full of tea, she pointed out everything and I began my work crafting the perfect cup of Jasmine tea, just the way we liked it, cover or not I couldn’t stand seeing Natalie in that state and I knew making her some Jasmine tea would help her. “ Drink this before going to bed, it'll help you feel better.” I extended the cup towards her and she looked at it. “ This tea…” she said after taking a sip. “ It tastes so good, so familiar, oh dear you have no idea what you’ve done.” We had a little chat to lighten up her mood, and it worked. She was laughing again then her smile faded, “you know…you remind me so much of our Luna, like her spirit reincarnated into you.” I took her hand squeezing it tight, wishing I could tell her that her guess was in fact true. “ I must go to bed now, you need to rest too.” I said, and she smiled softly agreeing. She reached me at my door, “ Thank you again, I really needed that.” “ Anytime.” I walked in my room feeling lighter, now with Naomi on my side it was going to be very easy to talk about my death and maybe even get close to Kael. But I know I wasn’t going to do that in this body, I needed a glow up and fast. I opened the door to the closet at the far end of the room, there was a collection of dresses but none of them looked like they’d fit. I dug in deeper but there was nothing, nothing that would make me go from nay to yay I had to start working on my looks if I wanted to get close to Kael fast.
