Party Quest continuation

After the break they went on their way again. Sera walk along side with Forest. She maintain the distance between her and him.

“A lamia is coming in this way” Gustave told them as he hold the hilt of his sword. “The distance?” Lerida asked turning her head upon him.

“About 3 to 5 meters.”

“There are three of them”

Sera gulped and grip the hilt of her sword. She was determined to fight these monster in the first place, there should have no place for backing out already. Not only that, she have accompany, and she had Forest. However, she isn’t sure if Forest can handle this.

“Based on the sounds they create it seems that they are bigger than earlier. A fully grown Lamia. Three of them.” Gustave didn’t hide the shock in his voice. He unsheathe his sword and he began to talk again.

“They have been detected us, their movement changed” Gustave looked determined, his gazed was pasted to the front as some rustling sounds is detected.

Sera threw a glance at Forest. He nodded. Sera move forward and covered forest. She unsheathe her sword and take a poise.

A lamia slithered on the ground and attacking Lerida. A surprised attack that Gustave didn’t saw. It was fast but Lerida was agile as she got away from the physical attack made by the lamia. The lamia had long slender body of a woman. The long hair of her hides her breast. The lamia facing them was so gorgeous enough to make every men fall over to the knees and drool. Her white silver hair

“Avoid being charmed by this beast” Lerida shouted to them. The Lamia slithered on the way to her target. Lerida did not let it go away yet another Lamia jumped in the scene attacking Lerida.

Lerida swings her sword yet the lamia flick her tail to her sending her away from a distance.

The last of the lamia came and she casted charmed to Forest. The first Lamia was nowhere to be seen together with the two, Angus and Gustave. They may have been fighting the Lamia of somewhere right now.

“Forest, Look out” Sera shouted but instead of getting charmed he was not affected by it. Sera ran toward the lamia. The lamia casted a magic and aimed for her.

Sera jumps closer to her and swings her sword in mid-air. She completely avoided the attack but her attack didn’t seems to reach the Lamia.

She rolled over the ground and tried to attack her bottom. However the Lamia seems to have a barrier casted around her. She leap back after an attack she took some potions in her pouch as she ran and dodge the incoming attack of the lamia. The lamia randomly whips her tail on the ground. Getting hit by the tail is painful to take.

She distance herself on the lamia, that won’t work either. Lamia are good in short range fight and also long range fight. They are good at magic and they have this paralyzing venom that can kill you slowly.

Sera leap as she distance herself from the Lamia. The golden slit eyes were pasted on her. She raised her hand and casted a fire magic. She ran randomly at sharp angles dodging the wide range attack of the lamia.

She threw the [fire ball] on to the Lamia however it dodge and it got wasted. The Lamia slithered cutting down the trees from the impact of her tail.

Her only advantage in this fight is her Fire magic. Her water magic is very useless to the lamia. Lamia can Nullify Water magic since they are water elemental monster.

Sera again casted a fire ball, two of them float beside her. She threw them over the lamia while she ran forward. She goes on offense. Defending in a distance won’t do any change and she is at disadvantage.

She went casting two fireballs after another. She even set her blade on fire. The only thing she worries is her mana that is slowly consumed. She don’t know how many mana is require when using this magic. Even though she is not sure she still put her luck on it. She still had a mana potion in her.

She leaped through the air swing her sword on the midair trying to graze the lamia white skin with her sword which blade is in blaze. She landed on the ground and she immediately turn around not wasting any second to waste. The enemy is faster than her, nimble and agile when it comes to fighting in close combat. She is weak, yet this is method is only a key for her to level up faster.

She threw fire balls to her and leaped striking the main body of the lamia. The weak fire balls are meant for distracting the foe. Her trump card right now is to defeat the lamia with her sword skills. Right now, she is thankful to her deceased father for training her to use sword.

“Let me fight too” she heard Forest voiced through her head. Yes, she can’t defeat a monster like this alone. It was impossible. Also, letting Forest fight alongside with her will make them stronger.

“You should’ve done it if you want to join. After all, you agree to take this quest” she replied shouting back to her. She can say it to her mind but she can’t express her willingness through speaking on her mind.

Forest ran to aid her. He already took the potion to nullify charm effect.

He unsheathed his sword as he swing it to block the incoming attack from the lamia. Her tail bounce from the metallic sword of his. A series of attack using the lamia tail targeted him while the upper body is now casting magic to Sera.

The tail right now is buffed with power-up magic, [Iron flesh] It makes the scale, hide and skin to be tougher 2-3 times harder, depending on the level of the power up use.

Forest tried to close the gap of the distance yet the Lamia was skill full, it was good. Forest bldes can’t slice throught the thisck scale on the tail.

Sera was continuously using fire on the blade of her sword. She is now feeling exchausted for using too much fireballs. The lamia is using buffs too. It was completely way out of her league.

She set, four mini firesballs She thought of something again, inventing weird usage of magic while fighting a higher lever monster is ridiculous but worth it.

She shapes the fire like a spears and sent the two flying over the lamia, she dodge the fire spears that is sent to her. she didn’t knew that sera fires are connected to her, in other word she can control the fire spear in limited distance. However this technique is like the water balloon that she made when she drown the goblins, it require a large amount mana.

The two spear went back on their way as the lamia focus was back to sera again and about to make a move. The two spears pierce her bare back. She screams in pain as the fire burnt her skin and her long hair that lay beneath her skin. She completely lose focus on attacking as the excruciating pain is inflicted to her. She rolled on the ground squirming like a worm that is place on the ground with salt.

Her eyes watered as she embrace herself trying to cope up with the pain in her back. Forest tried hard to avoid the fast randomly attacking tail as he tried to chop it off.

Some scales of her is falling out of her tail. The buffs are already gone due to the limit of the magic. Sera threw a glance to Forest a signal to put an end to the Lamia.

She strengthen the fire on the blade of her sword. She run toward the lamia’s body that in rolling on the ground and she swung her sword upward and sideward. The lamia whip her tail randomly sending Forest away. His body torn down three tall tress after stopping. Sera focus didn’t shift to him yet she leap on the air as the tail was about to slam her too. She landed as she strike her sword to her.

“I am human, I am not belong to this continent where you lead. Humans are now your enemy, and so I am. This may be the last time for us to see each other again, so… I wish you good luck on leading your country and your people… Reinhardth… or should I say, your majesty” A girl looked at his eyes scintillating before him.

“I am going back to the Human continent as what your loyal dog had ever wish. Also let me give you this” Her step towards him closing the gap between them. She tip toed to reach his face. However, he is so tall.

“Can you lower your head for me?” She asked humbly with a smile. He obey with further question. As He lowered his head her lips meet his. She slowly opened her lips as she kiss him.

She slowly distance herself afterwards. Her mouths opens as it she says something inaudible to him.

“Forest!” Sera shouted as she tapped his cheeks.

“Oh my Goodness! You went blackout after taking the lamia’s strike. You are fortunate enough not to have broken bones.” Sera exclaimed to him. Forest slowly sat leaning on the tree behind him.

‘Where are the three” he asked

“Oh they are in the lake. Gustave carried you here. He was so kind to help me carry you yet that man named Angus didn’t bother helping me a hand… I did healed his wounds yet he is so ungrateful.’ She ranted to him. She didn’t realized that she was becoming casual over him.

“Are you thinking of something?”

‘I dreamt of something that look like it happened before’

“HMMM? May be that is your past! A hint for you to find missing piece” she replied.

‘Maybe that dream is not a hint or a clue to me’ He said as he remember a piece of it on his mind making him avoid his glaze to Sera.

He wanted to ask her some question regarding to it and his other mind keep him from saying those words to her.

“Okay then. Take a rest and we will go again after having a lunch. So better ready yourself if you want to fight alongside with us.”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you in your fighting skills, I am worried about your current state. Well I kind feel I pity you so, I feel responsible for taking you in to my custody… Ah. That word making me look like a young lady with a grown son. Weird right?” she laughed as she joked around to him and Forest didn’t even laughed. Sera felt awkwardness at that moment her lips form into a thin line afterward.

As they finish their lunch beside the lake they carry on the quest. Sera did her part as she serve as support to them. Angus serve as their shield while Gustave and Lerida serve as attackers. Due to their camaraderie they went home earlier than they expecting. They encountered many lamia, young and grown up ones.

After the quest, sera got 9 silver and some coppers. After getting their share, Sera brought things for them for their ongoing journey in the future.
