Desa woke up in the warmth of Kalia’s embrace. The other woman was wrapped up in her arms, sound asleep with her head on Desa’s shoulder. The bunk they shared was barely big enough for the both of them, but it may as well have been the nicest bed in the finest hotel. For a little while, she was content to just lie there, to listen to the rain pattering on the window. They would not be arriving for another few hours; there was no rush to get out of bed.
Without even realizing it, she dozed off again, and when she woke up, Kalia was raining kisses on her face. She smiled upon realizing that Desa was awake. “Well, good morning,” she murmured.
Desa reached up to lay a hand on the other woman’s cheek. She sat up and brushed Kalia’s lips with hers. “Good morning.”
