Sharing rooms

Martha

Martha:” Well, why don’t we all go inside out of the cold, and you can both get settled in?”

As they walked through the door, I noticed how nervous Theo looked, but I said nothing.

Martha:”Now I don’t have time to get the guest bedroom, so someone is going to have to share it.”

When I said they would have to share, they all looked at me like I had two heads. They looked so funny.

Maria:”Mom thought you were getting it ready for us to have separate rooms?”

Jackson

When she said that one of us would have to share a room with him, the first thing that came to mind was Maria saying she would share with him.

Jackson:”I thought it was already done because you'd been working on it for weeks.”

Theo:”I’m fine with sharing a room with someone as long as they don’t snore.”

Well then, he is sharing a room with Maria because she is the only one in the house.

Jackson:” It’s nice looks like you have to share with Maria because she is the only one who doesn’t snore.”

Maria:”Thanks a lot, Jackson. I was hoping to sleep in my room alone.”

Theo

I was just staring at them both while they were arguing about how I had to share a hand touching my shoulder.

Martha:”Theo comes to the living room with me, and we can talk while they are arguing about the room situation.”

When she said that, I got a little scared, but it may be better than listening to them arguing.

Theo:”What did you want to talk about? Your house is very nice.”

Martha:”Thank you, Theo. Thanks, I can’t take all the credit for most of the decorations looking nice.

Maria did it when she was younger.”

When she said that Maria made the decorations, I was surprised at how creative she was.

Martha:” So Theo told me why my daughter lied to me about having a boyfriend because I would like to know:”

Theo:” You can’t tell her what I told you well, but she said that because you kept on trying to set her up on dates and asking me if I would help, because you said you wanted to meet her boyfriend, and I’m always alone at Christmas, though maybe she will see how I feel about her.”

When I said all that, I was scared that I had hurt her feelings by telling her all this stuff that her daughter said to me.

Martha:” Uh Maria is my only daughter and I want her to just be happy, but if I’m being honest with you, she seems to be happier in the city than here.”

Theo:” It may be my fault half the time, but she always said that she had nothing going on or nothing to do.”

Martha

While he was explaining why my daughter never came home for Christmas or lied to me about having a boyfriend, I was very stunned that she would do this to me.

Martha:”Theo, if you want her to see you, all you need to do is tell her and I know she was lying, but I understand why she did, and thank you for trying to help her and I actually don’t have the guest room done. Let me show you the way to Maria’s room.”

As I said that, we both got up and went up the stairs to the top door of the hall, which is the castle part of the house.

Theo:”This part of the house is cool, it’s like we went to a different area of time.”

Maria

I saw them both go upstairs, so I followed behind very quietly so they wouldn’t hear me when they stopped at the stairs and started to talk.

Maria:”That’s why this part of the house is mine, because I have a different personality than them and the good thing for you is a second bed in the conjoining room that is always clean.”

Theo:”Where did you come from?”

Martha:”That’s the little thing she likes to do when no one is paying attention if anyone is around.”

While my mom was talking, I had always seen Mr. Strand was a serious and stern person and had never seen him scared. I’m starting to think that there is more to him than what it seems to be.

Maria:” Well, are we going to go up and get settled in or are we going to just continue to stand here? What is it going to be?”

Theo:” Well, let’s get going, and I will take and carry your stuff up the stairs for you.”

Theo

When I said I would take her stuff up the stairs she looked at me like I had six heads and was surprised that i said that.

Theo:” Don’t worry, I won’t drop anything. Okay, everything will be in one piece.”

Martha:”Maria quit staring at him and would you take him to the room so he could get settled in. Then you guys get ready for dinner.”

Maria:” We will be ready on time. Don’t worry, okay.”

After that, it was said Maria showed me the way up to the room, and it was very big for one person to have.

Maria:” Well, stop staring at the room and follow me through this door so you can unpack and leave my stuff there.”

Theo:”Sure. Why do you have a big room all to yourself?”

Maria:”Because I don’t have anyone to share it with, so I’ve been alone for most of my life, even though I have Jackson as a brother. He can't understand everything.”

Theo:” Well, I will go unpack and get ready for dinner, so see you later.”

Maria:” Okay, have fun over there.”
