Chapter Eleven: BrotherOf course, everything comes tumbling down the next day. Men from the Kingdom of Beasts are at their gates. The small army is made of two younger lions, a jaguar, a shifter none of their guards are able to identify, and fifty odd werewolf shifters who are, surprisingly, unarmed. Not that they need anything other than their sharp claws and fangs to wreck havoc in their peaceful kingdom.
Turning them away is akin to asking for war, so James opens the gates and lets them in. In a gesture of good faith, only one man enters through the door, leaving the rest at the gate.
"It is foolish," Leo says. "They could be underestimating us, or they come in peace. In either case, it is foolhardy to entire another territory on your own. You must never do this, Aryana."
