The private jet climbed through the clouds, leaving the chaos of the President’s inauguration far below.
Woo-seok sat alone in the cream-leather seat, one ankle resting casually over his knee. A crystal tumbler of expensive whiskey glimmered between his fingers.
He looked perfectly relaxed.
But he wasn't.
Yibo’s words kept circling through his mind.
Twelve of their most trusted backups in the ministry were forced to resign after the new President was inaugurated.
Twelve.
Not one. Or two.
Twelve.
Woo-seok slowly rolled the whiskey around his glass.
Namjoon had wasted no time.
The new President wasn't merely cleaning house. He was reaching for Woo-seok’s house. For his Kingdom.
And that was the part Woo-seok found amusing.
For years, powerful men had competed for the privilege of shaking his hand. Ministers, businessmen, politicians, even men who publicly claimed they hated everything he represented.
Then Namjoon decided to show up.
The first powerful man in Korea who had looked Woo-seok straight in the eye and refused to shake his hand.
Woo-seok's lips twitched.
‘What an interesting little man.’
One of the ministers who had been forced to resign had called him earlier that evening with a final message.
The President isn't here merely to govern.
He's determined to burn your entire kingdom to the ground.
Woo-seok laughed when he heard it.
Now he took a slow sip of whiskey.
“Burn my kingdom?” he murmured.
Across from him, Yibo didn't look up from his tablet.
“Should I be worried, Boss?”
Woo-seok glanced at him.
“Are you?”
“No.”
“Good.”
Yibo finally looked up.
“I was asking because you have that look.”
“What look?”
“The one that usually means someone is about to have a very unfortunate week.”
Woo-seok smiled.
“Only a week?”
Yibo sighed and returned to his tablet.
“There it is.”
“What?”
“That smile.”
Woo-seok's eyebrow lifted.
“You're becoming very brave.”
“I've worked for you too long to remain sensible.”
A quiet laugh escaped Woo-seok.
For a moment, the tension inside the cabin loosened.
Then Yibo's expression turned serious.
“We're approaching Taiwan.”
Woo-seok looked out through the window at the endless clouds.
“Good.”
“The Tokyo meeting went better than expected.”
“Tokyo always goes better when people understand what happens if they say no.”
Yibo gave him a sideways look.
“You're remarkably inspirational.”
“I try.”
The jet continued toward Taiwan.
The wolf had a new mission.
Not to hide from the new President. Not to defend himself.
To prove Namjoon had made the single greatest mistake of his political career.
He had challenged the wrong man.
---
The Taiwanese heat greeted them the moment they stepped onto the tarmac.
Woo-seok didn't even slow down.
A luxury SUV was already waiting.
He slipped into the back seat while Yibo took the seat opposite him.
“Elysium?” Yibo asked.
“Where else?”
Yibo gave a single nod confirming the location.
“Thought you'd say the presidential palace.”
“Too many cameras.”
“Elysium has cameras too.”
“Those belong to me.”
“Fair point.”
The SUV disappeared into the city.
---
Elysium.
An impeccable, high-end brothel.
It was the mafia’s secret treasure, where beauties from across the world could be seen all at once.
It was a symphony of lust and luxury.
They entered the perimeter, which was surrounded by guards. It was secured without a single loophole; nobody could enter or leave without his knowledge.
The entrance alone looked less like a club and more like the lobby of a five-star hotel designed by someone with an unhealthy obsession with gold.
Woo-seok walked through the doors.
His shoes clicked against polished marble.
Guards straightened immediately.
Heads lowered.
Yibo followed several steps behind.
They reached the private suite.
The doors opened.
The interior was marvelous. The hardwood floors were adorned with curated imported carpets, and designer lamps cast a warm amber glow inside. Guards stood in every corner.
It was a golden web, and the world’s elite walked into it willingly every single night.
When they reached the private suite, a woman in a long, glittery bodycon dress, slit high on her left thigh to reveal her fair skin, stood in the middle of the room.
Jing Sheng, a beautiful, middle-aged woman, she looked every bit the master handler she was.
Her gaze and demeanor exuded confidence, poise, and, above all, seduction.
She managed everything: hiring recruits, coordinating clients, and overseeing operations.
The three of them stood inside the room before she broke the silence.
“Evening, Boss.”
Woo-seok gave her a brief nod.
“Jing.” She waited.
His gaze remained cold.
“The five newest arrivals.”
She smiled. “Right away.”
She turned toward the door.
Woo-seok sank onto the leather sofa.A tablet was placed into his hand.
Live CCTV feeds filled the screen.
Jing Sheng stood before the newest recruits, speaking quietly to them.
One by one, their expressions changed.
Nervous glances, straightened shoulders, whispers.
None of them had ever seen Elysium's mysterious owner. And now they were about to.
Woo-seok watched without expression.
“Interesting,” he murmured.
Yibo leaned slightly closer.
“What?”
“They're frightened.”
“That's normal.”
“No.”
Woo-seok's eyes narrowed.
“Fear makes people predictable.”
Five minutes later, the suite door opened.
Jing Sheng stepped inside, followed by five of the most beautiful, seductive recent hires: four stunning women and one young man.
His wolfish eyes watched them walk in and line up obediently before him.
His pets. That was what he called them.
His gaze, sharp and unapologetic, assessed them from head to toe, skin to bone.
None of them dared to meet his eye.
The women were striking. Sharp features, sleek crop tops, two with navel piercings, and a brunette wearing a delicate chain wrapped around her thigh.
The brunette had a slightly curvy frame that complemented everything she wore, including the delicate thigh chain on her left leg. And he liked that particular glitter.
Then his eyes drifted to the far left.
The boy couldn't have been older than twenty. Slim frame, blond hair, soft features. American. Woo-seok’s gaze held there a second longer than intended.
He looked nervous. More nervous than the others.
And unlike the others, he accidentally met Woo-seok's eyes. For one brief second, neither looked away.
Yibo noticed.
Every one of them was seductive, their specialized makeup and attire highlighting every detail of what they were offering to those devouring them.
The mafia boss's gaze returned to the young man on the far left. Without turning to Jing Sheng, he ordered,
“They are leaving with me. Now.”
Jing Sheng raised an eyebrow.
“All five?”
Woo-seok looked at her.
“Did you hear me say four?”
“No, Boss.”
“Then we're finished.”
He then glanced at Yibo.“Arrange the transport.”
“Flight or convoy?” Yibo enquired.
“Flight,” Woo-seok replied.
Yibo nodded.
Then Woo-seok added casually,
“And make sure word reaches Seoul.”
Yibo paused. “Which word?”
Woo-seok smiled into his glass.
“Tell them I've gone shopping.”
Yibo stared at him for a second. “Shopping?”
“Yes.”
“For what?”
Woo-seok finally looked up. “Problems.”
Yibo smirked under his breath.
“Namjoon is going to love this.”
“No.”
Woo-seok leaned back, perfectly relaxed.
“He's going to hate it.”
His smile sharpened.
“And that's precisely why we're doing it.”
Outside the suite, the engines of the waiting vehicles were already coming alive.
The wolf had made his move. He was up to something wild.
And somewhere in Seoul, the newly elected President was about to discover that his first battle had only just begun.
