It has been three weeks since Klara left and life hasn’t been the same for Micheal. Even though they talk on calls, video calls and chats, he still missed her dearly. He has been busy trying to set up the Abuja branch of his family’s company and has resolved that he would start making plans about marriage once it’s set up, so he can move to Abuja with his wife and start a family over there. He told his parents about his intention to make Klara his wife because that was the only way he could be with her. His mother was so happy to hear her son talk about marriage to Klara, her wish is about to come true. “That’s brilliant son, but you have to finish setting up the company first before talking of marriage” his father said. The company branch was finally set after six week, so Micheal relocated to Abuja. Life over there started off very boring and tiring but thanks to Mark who keeps him company after work hours. “I really miss my woman Mark, I just wish she is here with me” he said with so much sadness. “Then invite her over, her father have his hospital branch in this city so she can live here while working” Mark said. “She can’t come to even visit or live here, her parents would not allow her to. That is why I need to get married to her so she can move in with me” Micheal replied. “But guy, how could you fall so in love with this girl over a short time?” Mark asked him. “I ask myself this same question over and over again and I just arrived at a perfect answer, that love does not follow any protocol, it comes at you when you least expected it. I don’t know what it is but I feel happy, peaceful and safe with her” Micheal answered. “I know what it is brother, its called love” Mark patted his shoulder. While on a video call with Klara, he decided to know her opinion on marriage. “Angel” he started. “Yes love” she answered. “Do you think you are too young to get married?” he asked. “No..I don’t think so, I will be 25 by August which is in three months time” she answered. “Does it mean you are ready for marriage?” he asked excitedly. She laughed out loud “What’s going on, why the marriage talk?” she asked. “Well..uhmm..don’t you think that’s the only way we can be together? Your parents are not going to let you come over here, even when I visit, I won’t be allowed to spend enough time with you. So I was thinking that marriage is the only way out, of course that’s because I love you and want to spend my life with you. But you don’t have to agree to it if you are not yet ready” he explained. “Wow..to tell you the truth babe, I imagine this all the time but didn’t know how to tell you so as not to sound desperate. Most times I cry, have mood swings because I miss you so much. I even suggested to my daddy that I relocate to Abuja and work in his hospital over there but he refused. Everyday I crack my brain to come up with a solution, but I realized that marriage is the only way we could be together legally. And yes I am ready to get married and spend my life with you” she said excitedly. “Thank goodness, you don’t know how happy you just made me. I will be coming to Lagos by weekend to meet your parents” Micheal said. “Really? I can’t wait to finally meet you after, it’s over two months and I have missed you so much” Klara whispered. “I miss you too my angel” he replied. Klara informed her parents and brother about Micheal’s visit and they looked forward to welcome him. She drove to the airport on Friday evening to pick him up; his flight was for 5:30pm. She got there around 5pm and was waiting patiently. When she saw him come out of the ‘arrival’ point, she ran to him and hugged him so tight with her head on his chest, she continued muttering “I missed you” with tears forming in her eyes. She didn’t care if people were watching or not. Micheal was also emotional, he held her in his arms and continued giving her gentle pats on the back. He didn’t want to break off the hug; he wanted her to do that when she was ok and had calmed down. She looked up at him after some minutes, he wiped the traces of tears on her cheeks with his thumb, lowered his head and kissed her so passionately, “it’s good to finally hold you in my arms again my love.” They left to where the car was parked with their arms linked. He led her to the driver’s side, opened the door for her to step in, he then went around to seat at the passenger’s seat. She kept on talking throughout their trip home, telling him about Lagos life and how much she missed him. He just kept quiet and listened to her sweet voice while watching her. 'She has always been a girl of few words, how much does she miss me to be talking this much' he thought. She would stop talking at intervals to hold his left hand with her right. “I think you should concentrate on the road and drive babe, I’m here now and I’m not running away” he said while laughing. “Ok, alright” she chuckled. Micheal was received warmly when they got home. “You have to cancel the hotel reservation you made, you can’t come to Lagos and stay in a hotel when you have a family here and there are empty rooms available in this house” Mrs Ume said while they were having dinner. “Alright aunt, I will do that after dinner.” “Micheal let’s play PS5 after dinner, that way you can relax” Luke said. “No way! I’m going to show him around the house after dinner” Klara retorted. “Enough talking children, let’s have dinner in peace” Mr Ume said. Micheal giggled, seeing Klara fight for his attention made her look so cute. He needed to tell Mr and Mrs Ume his reason for coming this night because he will be leaving on Sunday morning. “Uhm…uncle, aunt, I would love to discuss an important issue with you both after dinner” he said. Klara smiled shyly, she already knew what he will be talking about with her parents. “Ok dear, let’s talk after dinner” Mr Ume said.
