I had already informed Mum that we’d be coming over in the evening, but right now, I was just glad to have the chance to spend time with Daphne, away from the walls of her house.
Earlier, she had mentioned a water fountain that supposedly made wishes come true. The excitement in her voice was contagious, and I couldn’t bring myself to say no.
By the time we got there, a few people were already gathered around; the usual mix of lovers, families, and kids running around, their laughter filling the air.
