I couldn't believe it. I had finally made it. I was running through the woods the fastest I could. I knew that I couldn't outrun roughs they were ten times faster than me and don't even let me get started on their wolf forms. I knew that the second they found out that I was gone they would come after me. Mabey I could fight a few but I never had any training in my entire life and besides what I could do in my cell I had no idea how to control my powers.
My name is Amelia and I'm a water bender. You see in a world were werewolves, vampires and witches is a thing, benders of any sort is really rare. when I was a kid (around 10 years old) these roughs attacked my house and my mom and dad died. They wanted me as a weapon and use me to win their wars. But I sure wasn't going to help these maniacs.
I managed to escape by using the small skill of bending I had, but my plan didn't go further than to make it out. I never thought I'd make it this far. I knew there was a werewolf town a couple of miles from where I was now and I also knew that the roughs wouldn't dare to step a foot inside those territories. If only I could make it into the town I would be safe.
I felt how the backpack slammed against my back as I kept running through the woods. I didn't dare to look back as I feard what I would see. This was my one chance if I screwd it up I would never be free. I felt my lungs burning in my chest as I kept running. I tripped over a log and fell. I was laying there on the ground and breathed heavily. For some reason, I just couldn't bring my self to get up. I needed to. I brought myself up and cursed that I just had to bring my belongings that I could find. Most of the stuff was my mother's old water tribe clothes. But I just couldn't bring myself to leave them with those people.
After running for what felt like forever and my legs felt like they were ready to give up I saw a clearing in the wood. I ran faster and finally I ran out of that godforsaken wood. There was like a meadow before the city started. There where tall skyscrapers and other big houses. It looked truly amazing. I heard a loud howl behind me and I realized that I didn't have much time. I still wasn't on anybody's territory. I started running faster then my legs could handle and I felt the tall grass cut my legs. It was like I could see the finish line and I wasn't going to lose now. I could hear loud sounds of paws hitting the ground and I knew I wasn't going to make it. I turned around and to my surprise, it was only two of them. I guessed that they split up to cover more area. I couldn't see a water source anywhere close by. I knew I had to think quickly to come up with something that could get me out of this situation. Then it clicked.
I looked at the grass around me and realized how much water there must be inside of it. I focused really hard on the water inside the grass. Then I bent it out. It wasn't much but it was enough. I connected it like a waistband around my waist and used small pieces of the waistband at a time and bent out small pieces of ice and shot them at the wolfs. I saw some of them hit but even though it looked quite painful it wasn't enough. So I made a big stream of the water I had left and bent them both into ice.
I ran the last bit to the city. I ended up in a very sketchy part of town and realized I had no plan what so ever on how to survive. I guess the first step is to get a job and then work from thereon. I also decided to not interact with more werewolves than I had to wich would be difficult because everyone in this city was a werewolf. I also decided to watch everything for a while to see who was the biggest alpha of the biggest pack and other alphas and their relationship to each other. But for now, I found a comfortable street ally that I decided to sleep in knowing I at least was safe from the roughs. Or at least for now.
