Chapter Five
The path to the office feels lonely without Magda by my side. Without anyone. But she's still mad at me, and I didn't want to admit it bothered me and ask Marshall to come instead.
Today should be an exciting one. They're announcing the honour list to students so we're all prepared for what's to come at the graduation ceremony. Instead, all I feel is an overwhelming sense of dread. Nothing has gone my way since I'd handed in our book of spells. Or at least, it feels that way.
"Hey," Marshall says, cutting in front of me with a bunch of flowers in his hand.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, a smile twisting at my lips. Alright then, things are looking up a little bit.
"I thought I'd surprise you with flowers after you found out if you made the honour roll," he admits sheep
