Chapter Seven Ryan groans and his eyes flutter open, sending relief crashing through me. "Ryan?" I whisper. "What happened?" he croaks. "You got hit on the head." "Oh, right. Earthquake." "Ah, so you remember. That's good." I scratch Rhubarb behind the ears. "Yes. I just have a bit of a headache." "Not a surprise. I couldn't find any other injuries, but you're going to need to get checked out properly once we're out of here." "I promise. But how likely is that going to be?" he asks.
