Chapter Six
I glance behind me to make certain Daphne is following. She must see what I did, as she slinks out of the shadows, before darting back in. It's still hard to believe my best friend can turn into a cat, though I suppose it's no stranger than me making kittens when I try to do spells instead.
"Thank you," I whisper, and continue on my way to Feathertop's office. There aren't many students down here right now, it's after hours and most of the staff don't organise student-teacher meetings at this time. That should have been a red flag right there, but I didn't think about it twice because I'm too focused on the things I do know about Feathertop.
