Chapter Eight I set my dinner tray down next to Ryan's, sitting close enough that our legs brush beneath the table. It's refreshing to be able to spend time with him in public, as opposed to the private office sessions I have with Thomas. "Are you okay?" he asks, putting an arm around me. "You're going to need that hand to eat with," I point out. He shakes his head. "I can use my fork, it's fine." He scoops up some of his chicken and rice and took a bite as if to prove his point.
