Chapter 14

Leah Morris

"I can't believe I'm in Paris right now." I squealed as I got out from the plane. I turned around and was so glad that Adrian is still inside. I took out my phone from my bag and someone bumped me.

"Sorry, Ms. Morris." I turned to see one of the guards struggling carrying a big bag. I smiled at him just letting him know I'm fine.

"Mr. Nielsen, here's your car key." One of the guards said to him as he gave Adrian the car key. Adrian turned to me and gestured me to follow him. I decided not to ask questions since he hated it.

I rather not get on his bad side because he can be out of control like what happened in the headquarters back then.

I got into the car and put my seatbelt on. He drove the car away and I looked out the window admiring Paris. Paris is so beautiful and I just.. I just can't believe it. I think I've been watching too much movies about Paris.

"Don't tell me that you're one of that girls." I turned to Adrian raising my eyebrows.

"What do you mean?"

"Wanting to find romance in Paris." He said and I chuckled.

"I'm one of those girls, I mean.. What's wrong with finding love in Paris?" I turned to the window again and Adrian didn't say a word anymore. He was driving pretty fast and when we entered a long straight road, I immediately knew that we're in the Paris Headquarters.

We got into the headquarters and he parked his car right in front of the lobby. We both got out from the car and he immediately greeted by a woman who I assumed his secretary here.

I walked into the Paris Headquarters and it's so different from the London one. It's so much bigger and more luxurious but I like the London one more because it's just simple but modern.

"Are you lost?" I jumped a little bit when there's a man behind me holding a cup of coffee.

"I don't understand French. No, I'm not lost. I just do-"

"Ah.. sorry. Do you have work here?" He asked in English and I was just about to say that I'm here with Adrian but Adrian suddenly called me.

"Leah, what the hell are you doing there?!" Adrian's voice was loud enough to give a lecture to 200 students. The man in front of me turned to Adrian and bowed a little. I gave him a smile and walked towards Adrian immediately.

"You're here to work and stick with me, not wondering around." Adrian hissed and I just looked at him confused. Why is he acting like a woman in her period? He's so salty and it's not even in the morning.

We went down to the basement and he told me to stay in one of the waiting rooms. I wasn't allowed to go into the lab with him nor interact with other employees. I looked down to the ground tapping my feet completely bored.

"You're alone again." I looked up and saw the man from earlier.

"I'm Sammy by the way." He said as he sat down beside me putting his hand out. I took it and smiled.

"I'm Leah."

"Are you Mr. Nielsen's girlfriend?" He asked and I shook my head.

"No, I'm not. I'm his employee." I chuckled and he nodded.

"I thought you are since he raised his voice on you when you're talking to me."

"He's just a little moody, maybe I got into his bad side earlier so that's why he's like that." I said and he laughed.

"Once again, did I pay you to talk to other employees?" I got up the second Adrian showed up. I looked at him nervously and he was already looking at me coldly. He turned his attention to Sammy.

"Come with me, Leah." Adrian said and I turned to Sammy apologeticly and he gestured me to go. Adrian walked fast and I needed to keep up with heels. I was half running at this point.

"Trey, this is Leah. She's my employee from the London headquarters." Adrian introduced me to him and I politely shook his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Leah."

"Likewise." I smiled and Adrian asked him to continue. Trey started to explain some new technology that he and his team have been designing. Adrian looked at it seriously and I looked down to see all the prototypes that Trey has on the table.

One item caught my eyes and it was an oval shaped gadget. I was going to reach for it when Adrian stopped me by holding my wrist. I turned to Adrian and he asked Trey to leave.

"Take it." He said as he looked straight into my eyes. Instead of doing what he said, I pulled my hand back.

"You're really pissing me off today, Leah." I didn't even do anything why is he mad? I don't understand. He grabbed the oval shaped gadget and it turned into a small g*n. He pointed it at me and I looked at him in horror.

"This is not London, Leah. You can't touch whatever you want, talk to other and-"

"Mr. Nielsen." I cut him and he put down the small g*n and he sighed.

"I don't know what I do wrong until you're mad at me like this but.. you can tell me nicely instead of being cold like this." I said and he looked at me annoyed.

"I think you should have take another employee instead of me in this business trip because it seems I'll only make you mad all the time." I said completely not caring that he's my boss at this point.

"Trey!" He called Trey again and Trey walked in. Adrian and Trey started to talk again and I just stood there listening to everything that they say.

After that Trey left again to get something and again.. the atmosphere between us went cold.

"I'm trying to tell you not to touch anything here earlier, these are not prototypes." He said and I looked down to all the gadgets in front of us.

"Okay." I answered him coldly without looking at him.
