Lost and Found

Eva's POV It was the most incredible thing. I hated to admit it but after Jasper made love to me I felt a sliver of darkness leave my heart. I would need to rectify that in the future but for now I was content just resting between my love's arms. “Eva! Jasper! Get down here now!” We had lost track of time and our parents returned home. Jasper let go of my naked body faster than I thought possible. Jumping up from the bed I joined him searching for our clothes. If we were caught, I feared our parents would find some way to put a stop to our love and I was not willing to lose the bond we had formed. Jasper threw my jeans towards me before he stumbled attempting to put his legs in his own pair. “E, come on!” I had not realized I was just staring at the man who less than a week prior I utterly despised. Snapping out of my trance I slipped back into my pants and re-buttoned my blouse just in time as Derek knocked on the door. “I swear to the powers that be, Jasper, if you have been doing what I suspect you are moving to the basement and I will lock you in,” we heard our father threaten from the other side of the closed entranceway. “Hi Daddy,” I say as I opened the door fully clothed. Jasper was still shirtless but that was somewhat normal. “What the Hell is that!” our father screamed, noticing the blood I had left on the sheets. “s**t,” Jasper whispered under his breath but thankfully I had become a skilled liar. “Daddy, I fell rushing up the stairs to see Jasper and scraped me knee pretty badly. Jasper was amazing and bandaged it for me. I can show you if you would like?” My father glared at me and the very nervous Jasper before replying. “No need. You are both clothed so I trust that you have been that way. If not though, please do not make it so obvious,” he said through gritted teeth. I did not care whether he believed me or not. I just did not want to waste my time dealing with his wrath. “Okay daddy,” I sweetly replied before walking past. As Jasper followed my father put his hand on his chest stopping him. “You and I need to talk,” I overheard my dad say as I rushed down the stairs to work on the next stages of my plan. I was no longer the innocent sweet virgin nor was I going to behave like one. I made plans with Alex for later that evening. I knew he would be able to sense what occurred between Jasper and I. I could not wait to witness his rage. After learning Gabby's parents were indeed put under a spell and Alex assisted, my strategy changed. Pulling up to the house previously owned by Alex's father I noticed the pleasant dark energy radiating from the home. The darkness which evaded my heart an hour prior was returning and I reveled in the pain. Alex greeted me at the door but as I tried to enter he blocked my way. “What?” I incredulously asked. “You slept with him you wh***! I can sense the loss of innocence and from the smile on your face it looks like you enjoyed it. It was me who was meant to have your blood stain my sheets, make you writhe in agony as I forced myself in you,” he screeched then forcefully pushed me against the brick wall next to the entrance. I had no way to spread my wings and access my powers making me helpless. Alex pushed himself up against me before continuing his perverted speech. “No worries, I doubt that light warlock could have done much damage.” I frantically tried to break free of his hold but to no avail. As I fought, I saw a figure rushing towards us. I could not make out who it was but hoped they were not on my attacker’s side. "Remember, you told me that you are mine! That you would reject him once we have overtaken the light! I am who you want and tonight you will get exactly what you desire,” Alex yelled while stopping my attempts to free myself. The person approaching was close enough to make out what was being said but it was too dark for me to see who it was. They stopped in their tracks after overhearing Alex's thoughts regarding my desires. “Eva, what the hell is he saying?” I heard Jasper’s voice from the shadows. He rushed into view, yanking Alex off me before pushing the monster to the ground. Alex immediately spread his dark wings and I followed suit. As they unfolded, I noticed they were still far lighter than they had been this morning but I was about to change that. “E! Answer me! You were going to reject me?” Jasper asked. I could feel his heart breaking through our bond. Jasper had turned his back to Alex while confronting me. I too made the mistake of putting my attention towards my fated instead of focusing on the danger. Alex suddenly appeared behind Jasper holding a large rock. I took off, flying as quickly as I could to stop the dark angel from fulfilling my vision. “Jasper, run!” I screamed. Alex pushed Jasper to the ground using his dark strength before slamming the bowling ball sized rock down onto my love's skull. I plummeted into Alex, sending him crashing back into a tree but I arrived a moment too late. Jasper was unconcious and blood poured from the deep fissure beneath his dark hair. “Baby, no!” I cried, lifting his head and cradling him in my lap. My wings were still outstretched as I put up a protective barrier around us. I sobbed; my face pressed against his as the blood pooled. “I love you, Eva. No matter what, I love you,” a weak voice whispered. Jasper had regained consciousness but I could see him fading. His hazel eyes were becoming dull as his pulse weakened beneath my fingers. “Baby, No! I love you too! I was never going to reject you. Please fight!” As I desperately pleaded with Jasper to hold on, I felt a connection which had not been present for two years. ‘Eva! Finally!" I could not acknowledge her right now. While part of me was relieved I could not ignore the scene unfolding in front of me. He had to make it. Suddenly I noticed fractures appearing in the brick pathway. Immediately, I knew. Jasper was not breathing and blood stained my face, hands and body. Releasing my hold, I laid Jasper's body down, closing his eyes before scanning my surroundings. Alex was nowhere to be found. A fissure caught my attention. There were only four angles, representing four lives my warlock had remaining. As they started with six that meant he died before yet managed to remain light. Dark warlocks received their power from death caused by a direct result of their actions. Losing their own life shall increase their forces significantly but they only have six lives to risk. As Jasper was the biological son of the most powerful dark warlock he too had the ability to reincarnate but it would gather darkness within his heart. ‘E! He will be back. You know this. I love you. Alex is inside so I have to go. You were finally close enough for me to break through the spell he had Amara cast, stopping our communication. He cannot catch me. I have someone I want you to meet. I named her-‘ ‘Gabby!!! Stop! My fated love just died because I was trying to find you, only to learn you have been here all along. I will help you escape but not tonight. Please leave me alone!’ I telepathically communicated to my best friend. “Oh my God, Jasper! I followed him when I saw him rush from the house. Eva, baby, what happened?” my mother spoke as she appeared behind me. “Alex,” was all I could say before my crying stopped and anger took over. “I am going to kill him mom. Oh, he has Gabby too. Jasper gave one of his lives to protect me from that monster. I need to go.” With my now fully dark wings still hung behind my back I spread them. A single white feather fell as I took off into the night sky.
