3rd Person POV
After their conversation Jasper retreated to his room. Unsure of what to do he collapsed on his bed contemplating his next actions. ‘Where was Gabby?’ he anxiously thought. He knew he should tell their parents but his love for Eva was greater. He would give her the week but he never promised he would not do research of his own.
As dinner approached Jasper contemplated how he would handle the situation. Once at the table he sat next to his fated, grasping her hand under the table. Any time she worried he would say something Eva would give his large hand a squeeze.
“I wanted to tell you-,” she tightened her grip
“We have been-,” squeeze.
“Eva-,” another squeeze.
“How is-,” he couldn't take another.
Eva was extremely paranoid to the point Jasper had to remove his grasp. While she calmed him the constant reminder of what he learned was too much.
After watching a movie with the family who allowed he and Eva to curl up next to each other on the couch, it was finally time for bed. Despite his need for Eva, he had to clear his mind.
Eva was not happy he did not want to join her but after multiple attentive kisses she finally allowed him to go off to bed alone. Once there, Jasper collapsed on his mattress. Unfortunately, his thoughts refused to rest and soon he was pacing back and forth.
After learning Eva was contacting his biological father he needed to ensure she did not reach out again. Jasper decided his best option was to speak to the man who volunteered to teach him light magic many years prior. Ana's father, his adopted grandfather, was a powerful angel who assisted their parents in defeating his dark warlock of a father. After he was adopted the great angel asked one of his associates to mentor Jasper in light magic.
Picking up his phone he sent the text. It simply read, ‘I need help.’ Not expecting to hear back that evening he finally started to relax and drift off. Within minutes of his eyes closing a man appeared in his bedroom.
“What the Hell Egor?!” Jasper angrily whispered after being startled awake.
“You said you needed help! What is going on?” the man replied.
Egor was tall and slim. His white hair was cut neatly, styled just above his ears with light skin and ice blue eyes bright enough to pierce your soul just by a glance.
“I didn't mean right this second! The whole family is home!” Jasper responded continuing to whisper.
“I'm here to help you. If you want it, start talking young one. From the look of you it seems like you need it.”
Egor was nearly 200 years old and one of the most powerful light warlocks in existence. He was head of the strongest coven in the Northeastern United States, the Moonbeam Coven, who had a direct link to Heaven.
Jasper finally let his shock go and proceeded to explain what he needed. Throughout the night Egor taught the young warlock a spell to block Eva's psychic medium and telepathic abilities which they cast around the home. From there Jasper learned multiple enchantments, some used to locate, others to help block darkness plus a few more powerful ones he kept as backup.
As the sun rose Jasper thanked then said goodbye to his mentor before lying down, hoping to receive a few moments of rest before Eva left for school. As soon as his head touched the pillow he heard Eva's shower. Frazzled, the young warlock gave up on the idea of sleep and decided to get himself ready.
Thirty minutes later he joined his fated, younger brother and parents around the kitchen table. Eva came straight over, plopped down onto his lap and kissed him.
“Ewwww! Dad! Tell them to stop!” Edward wined.
“Okay you two. You know we understand but not while we are eating breakfast, please,” their father insisted.
“Ugh dad! Fine!” Eva replied while removing her arms from Jaspers neck before getting up and returning to her new place beside him.
Ana appeared holding plates full of pancakes which they all proceeded to devour. Everyone but Jasper. Eva noticed and looked over to him with an inquisitive expression.
Jasper’s head began to pound. Assuming it was from the stress he excused himself before making his way to the living room and collapsing on the couch. His mind felt as if it was going to explode. Suddenly a familiar voice spoke in his thoughts.
'Damn, that was hard! Finally! What the Hell is going on Jasper? You are always hungry! You are my fated. Communicating should be easy.'
He realized she had broken through the spell stopping telepathy. Never before had they communicated using their link so he could use that excuse but he needed to act quickly. Thankfully the pressure in his head had subsided after Eva pushed through the magical barrier.
'Hey baby, I am just not feeling too well,' he replied hoping to not raise suspicion.
'Alright… Well, I'm leaving for school. Can you meet me in the foyer to say goodbye?'
That was his cue. Sitting up he was surprised to find Eva standing directly behind him.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“Just checking on you,” his love sweetly replied but the look on her face told a different story.
“Okay… I'm fine. Just going to rest after I walk you out baby girl,” Jasper said while wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her in for a kiss. As he did so he recited an incantation in his mind adding a second barrier around Eva that would accompany her wherever she went.
“What was that?” She asked. Eva had felt a light energy encircle them.
“Our love, beautiful,” he quickly replied before grabbing her hand and walking to the door.
As soon as Eva left Jasper rushed out of the home unaware his fated had used angelic powers of her own.
