Eva slowly opened her eyes to a day she had been looking forward to ever since her parents adopted the demon’s son, or so she referred to him as.
It was Eva's 18th birthday. She could say goodbye to the house where everyone seemed oblivious to the darkness amongst them.
12 years prior her parent’s, Ana and Derek, defeated the most powerful dark warlock who's intention was to spread destruction and despair without light standing in the way. He nearly succeeded but her parent's love gave them the strength to stop his plans and rid the world of the evil incarnate.
It turned out the dark warlock had a son. Her family, being the kind angels they are, chose to adopt the boy in hopes of guiding him down a righteous path.
Eva emerged from her bed to find Jasper, her adopted sibling, standing in the doorway. She could never accept him as her brother. Eva believed she saw past his light façade.
“What do you want creep?” Eva questioned.
“Wow, I just wanted to say happy birthday. I'll leave you be,” Jasper replied, defeat clear in his voice.
Ignoring Jasper, Eva made her way to the adjoining bathroom to ready herself. She knew there was a chance to meet her fated love today and while she did not particularly care about being destined to someone, if it helped rid her of the imposter then she would not complain.
Her parents were throwing a party and invited all the surrounding angels to join in her celebration, both light and dark.
Embracing the contrasting theme, the birthday girl added product to her blonde shoulder length curls. Pairing her soft hair with dark eye liner and burgundy lips she looked back in the mirror to admire her work. Eva chose a black and white color blocked bodycon dress emphasizing her curvy body. After slipping on a pair of nude heels she made her way down the stairs.
Jasper was the first to see her and could not help but stare.
“Stop it weirdo,” Eva sneered.
Jasper had to excuse himself. His heart and mind were running rampant with emotion. The lines were blurred.
