Revenge

“This shouldn’t repeat itself again Mr. Lucas, you should know better how I value a peaceful and conducive working environment” Clark reprimanded, sitting on his office sofa while Lucas and Catra stood like kids being quarreled. “And miss Catra…” he smiled at her, a smile that looked threatening but Catra smiled back coyly “Mr. Lucas is neither my PA nor my secretary; those are henceforth your title and duty to perform” “Of course Mr. Clark” Catra laughed “I know my duties and was only joking with Mr. Lucas here but clearly he didn’t get it” she sighed sadly “just like everyone else” she pouted, the last part more of a quiet mumble but he heard it anyway. “It was a joke you all, why are you all so serious “a loud sigh “what a boring bunch” The words vibrated in his head, a faint memory of his past “Jokes are kept to a minimal here at the work place Catra and…” “Fine, fine” she waved him off “Can I go back to my station now?” Clark’s eyes twitched at the rudeness, if she had been just anyone he sure as hell would have sent her away just for disrespecting him but of course it was princess Catra, sending her away was not an option. “Yes you can” he answered His eyes twitch even more as she mumbles a quiet “what a bore” and bangs the door once she was out. “Are you sure about employing this one sir, she seems a bit off if you ask me” Lucas complained “Don’t trouble yourself with her Lucas, I can handle her just fine” he smirked while rubbing his finger on his lower lips “this is gonna be fun” The nerve of that four eyes, he’s just as bad as he looks” Catra said as she sat down at her chair in front of her desk with just the computer on it. “He has no sense of humor what so ever” she sighs relaxing into her chair “I was just trying to create a lively atmosphere amongst us as coworkers” The sound of the door opening had her sitting up straight and quickly grabbed the mouse of the computer as she randomly clicked around to seem busy. She heard a sigh beside her before some stacks of paper were shoved into her point of view. “These are what you’ll be doing today” Lucas said as he hands the papers to her which she collected and began flipping through. “Just these?” she asked “I’ll be done in no time” she smiled Lucas scoffed but not loud enough for her to hear “When you’re done with that” he gestured to something behind her “those are waiting to be done too” She followed his eyes to see heavier stacks of paper like a full rim sitting there, her eyes widened “Oh… okay, I can do those too” she shrugged “He needs them in the next two hours” “Two hours?” she asked eyes wider “Why, can’t do that much?” Lucas teased “of course I can” Catra replied sounding unsure, “I was just thinking… two hours is a bit…” she put her finger on her chin as she looked to the ceiling as if in deep thought “Is…?” Lucas prompted her when she just stopped there “A little bit too much” she added with a more confident smile as she swiveled back to her former position, hitting the edge of the papers on her desk so that it was flat and even “I’ll be done in two hours” “Sure suit yourself” Lucas rolled his eyes before walking away not believing a word she said. Clark smirked eavesdropping on their conversation ‘She’s all big talk’ he thought as he went back to his seat from the door. The clock ticked by slowly making his smirk grow wider “Once it’s one o clock, exactly two hours from now, I’ll walk out there and make her feel inefficient and stupid just as she did to me a life ago” He swiveled on his chair to face the blue clouded morning sky as he goes down memory lane. FLASHBACK: “What are you doing Clark?” “My lady” Clark replied as she stood up from his crouched down position to greet her. “I am still arranging and sorting out the scrolls as you asked me to” he replied “That was ages ago Clark, even a pregnant woman would have finished that hours ago” “My lady I …” “I want you out of here in the next ten minutes” the princess ordered, her eyes firm “don’t keep me waiting” “Yes my lady” he answered obediently with his head bowed down hearing her huff as she walked away. He let out a breath he did not even realize he was holding when he was sure she was gone. He looked at the work he was doing, it had just been thirty minutes since he began working but he couldn’t and wouldn’t complain after all this was his duty to always be at the service of his princess. And now fate had put her under his service as well. He swiveled back to face his desk. “Now to get busy before the time” he said as he pulled out his mac and opened a game app to kill time since he had nothing much to do after adding his bunch to that of Catra’s. In no time he was so invested in the game he forgot about his environment until… BAM! The sound of something hitting his desk suddenly almost had him jumping out of his seat. He looked up to see Catra standing hunched over with her hand on the paper on the desk, a smile on her face. Here’s your file sir” she slide it closer to him Clark’s eyes bulged as he stared at the clock on the wall, it was just 11:30 am, thirty minutes into the time” “Miss Catra” he smiled seeing that it must be the first part of the work “you don’t have to bring them in one after the other, I want them all at once if you don’t mind” “That’s an analyzed version of everything Mr. Lucas brought to me sir” “What?” Clark asked shocked as she picked the clipped papers off the table, it looked way to thin to contain everything those thick files contained “You must be surprised because of the size but you won’t be if I showed you the original copies” she stood up straight and looked at him in confidence They contained repeated values and notes that could confuse you but with what you have there you’ll find it is not only easy to read and understand but also fun” she finished satisfied. Clark hummed as he flipped open the first page “You should also know that I have zero tolerance for mistakes, as you know a single one could lead to loss of millions of dollars” he warned to which Catra smiled reassuringly, encouraging him to open more pages. His eyes bulged wider the more pages he flipped through. There was not a single mistake and all the values and data tallied and just like she said it was even fun to read through. He sweat dropped, it wasn’t supposed to be like this and she wasn’t supposed to finish so soon. “The work had looked a bit too bulky but we figured out a way to lessen the time spent on it so we could move on to the next task as soon as possible” “We?” he asked nervous “Yes, I and my AI friend RAGE” Gloom fell on his face, with the existence of computers and internet there was no way he could make her go through what he went through… no, not by a whole lot. “would there be anything else you want me to do?” “I’ll let you know when I need you” he smiled at her which she returned before turning around to happily walk away, her pony tails bouncing with her. He scoffed in disbelief once the door clicked closed, his plan just failed and now he had to think of something else. He poked his mouth with his tongue as he thought, he almost jumped when his phone suddenly starts vibrating on his table, he huffed in annoyance as he picked it up. “Sir, the twenty cartons of papers we ordered is here, I’ll have the guards bring them up since the cart is currently faulty, sorry for the disturbance it may cause since a lot of them might have to come up” “Fine” Clark answered nonchalantly, about to hang up when a thought crossed his mind “wait Lucas” he sat up feeling suddenly enthusiastic “let the guards remain on their post, someone else will bring the papers up” he smirked “I have just the right person for the job”
