Eddie and Shawna walk outside, hand in hand. Their faces are neutral, and they have an air of leadership around them. They know they will have to handle this situation delicately and be mindful of the words they choose to use. They may know things weren’t all good with their Alpha, but it’s hard to speak against an Alpha to a pack without concrete evidence.
The pack members in attendance watch the Beta couple take the makeshift stage. There are questions and doubts swirling around, but no one is brave enough to speak on it. Everyone knows something has changed, but they aren’t sure what that is. They expected to be gathered for a ceremony and to be welcoming a new Alpha.
