“Do you understand what your role is?” I sigh internally, having heard this plan over and over again. It isn’t a complex plan, so it doesn’t take much to understand what’s expected of me. I literally have one job that I will have to perform if I’m called to do so. “Answer me!” I turn my head in the direction of the voice and take a deep breath in, slowly letting it out.
“Yes, I understand my role.”
“Good! Don’t f***k it up!” I’m alone in the room pretty quickly, and I let out a breath. I hate this entire situation. This is not how this was supposed to play out. I only wanted the resources and life specimens to continue my research. If I had known things would turn out like this, I’d have thought twice before agreeing to anything.
