Chapter 9: Honeymoon Over

1341 Words
The rest of their "honeymoon" went by in a blur, with the two not seeing each other the rest of the week. Ty couldn't go back to the office without raising suspicion about their relationship, he decided to coop himself up in his study/office at home. He told Nana, to just make sure Meg had everything she needed and just to follow her instructions as she is the new mistress of the house. He said that urgent business is keeping him from her. With Nana, not realizing anything was wrong, she just followed Ty's orders. He hasn't seen Meg after her tirade in his office. He hardened his heart against going to her and allowing her the leverage over their relationship, no matter how much he wanted to claim her body once again. Meg on the other hand, knowing Ty will always be in his office proceeded to memorize the house. He had instructed Nana, to bring him food in his study and Nana also told her of Ty's instructions. "So," she thought, "he will hide out in his study, ei?" So be it! She started to going through the kitchen and dining area, finding where things were located and learning how to operate the various equipments there. She slowly learned things about the house and about Ty, the various paintings that hang in the rooms, they were all beautiful, both with known and unknown artists, he leaned towards to abstract with either bold or earthen colors. It was all breathtaking. She also learned that aside from their room, the upstairs had 3 more bedrooms, and that one room connects to the master suite. She was thinking of occupying that, so that she and Ty wouldn't have to share the master's bedroom but still manage the farce that they were staying in the same room. She was still so mad at him for belittling the time they had together. She would have gladly given him her body if there was even a remote chance that he will learn if not love her but even like her a little bit, but her ego can't take being taken for granted, so she will deny him, if he will refuse to acknowledge that there can be something between them if he will let it. But she can't blame him altogether. She knew he hated this arrangement from the start but was sad over the fact that he doesn't want to give them a chance. She will have to eventually talk to him over this arrangement and hope he doesn't give a fuss. The week was almost over. They will have to go back to work. She didn't know if she will continue her work at her dad's company or if she will shift to Ty's company. She will have to talk to her dad about it. But she hoped she will stay there as she had plans for her department she didn't want to leave. She wanted to talk to Ty about work stuff, but didn't want to see him because she didn't want a fight. She decided to send him a message and realized that she didn't know her husband's number or any of his social media accounts. She laughed out loud at the thought. Ty was her husband, yet she didn't know how to contact him at all. Aside from this address and the corporate building in town, she didn't know any other property of Ty nor any of his contact numbers. It is indeed something to laugh about. Well, no choice now but to go to him in person. She gathered up her courage and went to Ty's office. Knock! Knock! Knock! She practically banged on the door. "Come in," was the fast reply. She promptly went in. Ty was taken aback seeing Megan at the door, but he raised his eyebrow. She didn't beat around the bush. "Will I be transferring companies?" she asked him. "Or will I stay at my department at our company?" Ty certainly didn't expect the question and didn't know how to answer. "Uhm, what did your dad say?" he asked her. "We didn't talk about it," she answered. "Oookay," he started, "What do you want?" "Weeeellll," she said, mimicking his tone. "I'd like to stay there if at all possible," she continued. "I don't know what your plans were after the wedding. Dad didn't tell me anything except that we were to wed." "I see," he said. "I'll talk to both our father's and see what we come up with," he told her. "I am also not privy to the plans those two has." "Okay," she agreed with him. "I'll take my leave." she turned and walked out the door. He wanted to call her back, but really had no reason to, so he didn't. Still firming his resolve not to complicate their relationship with emotions. He shook his head and continued working, trying to erase the picture of Meg in her beautiful sundress from his mind. His mind going to how he wanted to rip the dress off of her. He took a swig at the cooling coffee on his table and forced himself to focus on the papers scattered on his table. --- Megan closed the door of the study and breath a sigh. "That went well," she thought. "As well as that's going to get." She decided to call her dad as well and relay to him her wish to remain in their company and complete the work she has begun in there. Hopefully carving for herself the reputation of a savvy business owner rather than just the daughter of the CEO. She went upstairs to pick up her phone and went to the balcony to talk to her dad. She dialed her dad and he promptly answered, "Hi baby girl, how's the honeymoon?" "Dad,' she started, "you know its not that kind of honeymoon." Her dad snorted on the other side. "Don't tell me you hadn't..." "DAD!" she interrupted him. "That is not why I called." "Okay, sorry baby girl," her dad told her. "What is it?" "Our honeymoon is almost over," she began. "Its back to work," she told him. "I want to continue working at our company, Dad, Stay where I am, I don't know what you guys agreed upon with regards to my work." she continued. "Ty told me, he also doesn't know and that he'll talk to you and his dad, so I just wanted you to know my thoughts on the matter," she said. "I'd really like a life outside of Ty, and continuing working at the company and not joining him and his will do that." she finished. "Okay baby girl," her dad said. "As Ty said, we'll talk about it. I want to hear their opinion first, okay?" her dad countered. "But I will make sure to take yours into consideration." "Thanks dad, that's all I'm asking," she said, "Talk to you later. Bye." and ended the call. Again, Meg sighed. She thought, here goes my life, caught up in the game of men in a men's world. Always having to wait for their decision regarding my life. I'm a full grown adult. I'm intelligent, beautiful and very capable, yet I have to put up with these men in my life. "Arrggghhh," she wanted to shout. But she knew she had to work with them and around them so she can get to where she wanted to go. Honeymoon is over and it's back to work now. She hopes she get her answer sooner rather than later. There are so many things to be done in the office. Meg looked at her phone and remembered that she didn't get Ty's number, "Oh, she'll get it next time," she thought. With that, she turned and started to go back to her office and try to get some work done before she has to go back to office and get more work done, she smiled wryly at her thoughts and decided to take a nap instead.
