In the morning, she felt a little sore in her center, she got up, saw the red stain on the bed and a little tear slid from her eye. She lost her virginity last night, to her husband, she should be happy, proud, but she felt lonely, rejected. Ty was on the bed, fast asleep. He didn't seem to be affected by anything that had happened last night, looking so deeply asleep his breathing even and his face relaxed. He was really such a handsome man, she thought. But here she was, unable to sleep, thinking how she felt so miserable. She had given herself fully to her husband, but why does it seem like her world is falling apart. Like she wanted to cry a river when she should be elated that she has finally given herself to the man she loved since she was young.
She knew that she shouldn't dwell on it, thinking that everything will fall into place at the right time. Firmly resolved to making that best out of the situation, she went to the bathroom to shower, clean herself up. When she got out, Ty was nowhere in sight, his clothes were also gone. She looked around the room. On the nightstand she saw a note, it said, “sorry”.
At this Megan sat on the side of the bed and allowed her tears to fall freely. She cried for what seemed like hours. And when she was all cried out, she got dressed and packed her clothes. No need to stay here and wallow, she thought. I need to get my act together. I’m still the new Mrs. Tyrone Campbell and there are things to be done. She decided that starting today, she will be as cold hearted as Ty was. No, more than Ty, she decided firmly.
Ty slowly woke then memories of last night flooded him, he jolted up and looked at the bed, Megan wasn’t beside him and he saw the red stain on the bed. He shoved his head into his hands and thought of how he brutalized his wife. She was a willing victim granted but it was no way to treat a woman, let alone your wife and her first time at that. He heard the shower running and didn’t know how soon she will finish her bath. Ashamed of himself, he didn’t know what to do, he grabbed a stationary from the night stand and scribbled the word, sorry and quickly got dressed and went out to think.
When he got back to the hotel, intending to make amends with his new wife, argh, that word still brings a sting to his mouth, he thought, but during his walk, he decided that he really didn’t get the bad deal out of the bargain. He was Megan’s first, he still couldn’t believe it. She was beautiful, sexy as hell and rich in her own account. He promised that he will try to be friends with his wife, make the most of this deal and try to be happy or make her happy at least. He was shocked to realize that she left the hotel already, and he didn’t know where she would go. He looked for a note, something, to let him know where she went, but there was nothing. He called the front desk and asked if his wife informed them where she went. The front desk attendant checked and said that the new Mrs. Hopkins didn’t leave any word nor any note.
Where could she have gone, he thought. He didn’t know if he should worry, or if he should just shrug off the situation. Realizing he knew nothing about his wife, not even her number or her friends or their number. He knew that he didn’t bother knowing those trivial matters, thinking, it wasn’t important.
Lost in his thoughts, he jumped when his phone rang, he quickly grabbed it and saw that it was his Nana that was calling. He answered the phone and heard a very angry voice, shouting at him, “Where the hell are you, your wife just arrived here, in her own car and the maids are not ready! She’s not supposed to be here yet, you still got the whole week of your honeymoon left. Why is she here already?!?”
“I didn’t realize Nana, I’ll be there as soon as I can,” he tried to appease her.
“Hurry,” she told him and hung up.
He went to the closet and realized that she had also packed and brought his clothes. He hurriedly called Gabe his friend and driver to pick him up at the hotel ASAP.
At their new home, Megan, realized that she shocked the staff by arriving early and now they are all in a panic and was at a loss at what to do, and without Ty there, they didn’t know what to do with her. Even Nana, Ty’s nanny from childhood and was like a grandmother to him, was in a panic and she barely heard her shouting over the phone, realizing it was Ty she was talking to. Good for you, Ty, she thought.
Nana went to her and said, “Would you like anything to drink?”
“Nana, I will be living here now, I’m Ty’s wife, I’m not a visitor, don’t fret please?” she gently prodded. “Can you just have one of the maids to direct me to our room and I will unpack our clothes and I won’t bother you much, if you please.”
Still a bit flustered, Nana realized that she was right. And said, “forgive an old lady for her forgetfulness. It’s just its all new to us, to have a new Mistress of the house. It's a bit disconcerting.”
“No, worries, Nana.” she reassured her. “Everything will be alright. Now, let’s go to our room, shall we?”
Nana nodded and ushered her to the stairs while signaling one of the maids to carry the luggage.
“At the second floor and to the right, is your bedroom, the other side is a library of sorts, a den if you must, it carries a few distractions, a bar, a big couch, a billiards table and lots and lots of books. Ty loves to read, so you’ll find an assortment of books there,” Nana said.
She just nodded.
“Okay, here we go,” Nana said as she opened the door to Ty’s bedroom. “The sheets haven’t been changed yet. As I said, we weren’t expecting you till Monday. There is a bathroom in the left and the closet is in…”
Megan barely heard her as she moved into the room, seeing it for the first time and seeing Ty’s manly touches all over the room. “It’s okay Nana, I can find my way around, it's not such a big space,” she said. “Thank you. I can take it from here, she smiled at the old lady. But I want to rest for a while if it's okay?”
Nana nodded and instructed the maids to leave the luggage near the closet and hurriedly ushered them out. “Have a good rest,” she said to Megan and promptly closed the door.
Alone at last, Megan took a deep breath and braced herself, this room was all Ty, she thought. From the masculine design and color of the bed, to the decor, everything shouted MAN. Looking though Ty’s things, she felt a stirring inside her but ignored it, thinking that last night will not happen again.
There was a couch in the recreational area of the room, she decided to lie there for a little while, not daring to go near the bed, she knew it would smell of Ty and she will just get depressed thinking about it, about him. She promptly fell asleep.
