Don't Cross That Line

1485 Words
Michael is one of those men that had two different sides to his personality. To people like Maze, well, only her, he had a kind heart, a loving personality and was overly generous when it came to helping her. The other side to him.... Well, let's just say for now that no one would believe it was the same person if she described him that way. Standing 6ft 5 and built like he had never missed a day in the gym, light stubble and eyes so dark you'd think they were pure black, he was the perfect example of a personal bodyguard, but Maze doesn't see him that way. In Mazes' eyes, he will always be the giant softy that she has referred to as a teddy bear since she was two years old. Maze wasn't stupid though, she knew she was the only person that got to see this side of him, so watching her uncle act so loose and freely with the handsome man she had just been internally drooling over was a little concerning to see. "Unc I'm going to head back to my dorm, I need to get this shake off of me" she said as she made eye contact with the culprit. "Oh okay, I'm going to head out and pick you up a few supplies for your mini fridge. Do you want me to wait so you can tag along?" He knew she already had a few things but was delaying having to leave. Michael was terrified of letting her out of his sight after what happened to her in private school and if that meant dragging this day out, then that is what he was going to do. "No, that's alright. I think I'm going to finish setting up my room" Maze gave her uncle a hug and then turned to the man who hadn't said a word to her since her uncle showed up but who also hadn't taken his eyes off her since she started this conversation. "It was nice meeting you", once again she found herself looking at her feet. "The pleasure was all mine, little miss". Kyle couldn't get over how adorable this girl was and, he'd be damned if this was how he was ending their first meeting. He watched her hips do a little sway as she walked away. He was so fixated on her that he didn't see the mad-looking giant staring at him. "Don't" Michael knew exactly what he was thinking. "I wasn't do..." Kyle tried playing dumb, but was cut off mid-sentence. "Don't you dare cross that line Kyle". He could tell he was being deadly serious, but he also knew he wouldn't be able to help himself. "Now I'm going to go to the store, and you're going to go home." Michael left no room for an answer and headed out to his car. Maze looked proudly at her stuffies lined up on her bed. She somehow managed to get all of them on there and leave plenty of room for herself. She had placed her pink and black dream catcher above her bed, two matching night stands on either side of it which were, of course, pink. At the end of it was her favorite care bear-shaped rug, her white toy box with daisies that her uncle had painted on, as long as she promised to never tell anyone and her 5ft stuffed teddy bear that she couldn't fit on the bed no matter how many arrangements she tried. She walked over to her mini fridge but nothing that was in there really caught her fancy, but thankfully at that very moment there was a knock on her door. "Snacks!!" she internally screamed, she couldn't wait to see what snacks her uncle had brought her. Maze grabbed her bunny snoodie and threw it on over herself to cover up. She was halfway through getting dressed when she saw her stuffies still bagged up and feeling like a bad teddy mom, her mind made her stop what she was doing and get her teddy babies out in the open. Because of that, she was left wondering around in her blue fluffy thigh high socks and her matching blue lace bodysuit. After the 3rd knock she rushed over to the door and swung it open, the excited smile on her face suddenly turned to a timid smile and flushed cheeks. "Hey there little miss" Kyle stood where she thought her uncle would be, she noticed his eyes trail her body up and down. She saw him smirk and let out a little chuckle, that's when it hit her. She was wearing a bunny snoodie!! Her cheeks turned to a bright pink, her hands were pulling the hem on her fluffy cover up trying to pull it down even more than it already was. "Ummm how did..did you find my room?" She could barely get the words out as she felt herself slipping into her little space. 'No no no not now, not in front of the handsome man' she told herself but to no luck she could feel the urge taking over. Kyle could see she was fighting with her thoughts, so he took advantage of the distraction and stepped forward. "Are you unhappy that I found your room?" His voice was full of confidence because he already knew the answer and her blushing face confirmed it for him. "I...I...Ummm" Maze was kicking herself, she couldn't get a basic sentence out anymore. She tried taking a step back but he closed the gap taking another step forward. "You're not the talkative type, are you?" 'Fcuk she is so damn cute, is she being like this on purpose? Is she always this shy? Her uncle didn't make her seem like the quiet type.' Kyle thought to himself as he watched the little one infront of him become more and more flustered. He couldn't help himself, he needed those doe eyes looking up at him again. Before he could stop himself, his hand was reaching out to her chin and he was gently lifting her head. Maze's eyes were darting around the room, trying her best not to make eye contact with the gorgeous man standing in front of her, but then she felt his grip get a little tighter causing her eyes to lock onto his. "That's better isn't it", she noticed the look of success on his face as he spoke those words to her. "I...I can't breath" 'That's what you say?! You form 2 damn words together and that is what you come out with?' Maze was furious at herself, she never got flustered, her mind had never forced her into little space, but something was making her vulnerable and she didn't know how she felt about it. Kyle leaned down to her level, pulling her face closer to his. "Just go with it little miss" He was so close to her face he could feel the rapid small breaths coming out of her mouth. He had her right where he wanted and was about to make his move when a creak in the corridor snapped them both out of it. There was a knock at the door. Maze didn't even realize he had closed it after stepping in. She opened the door once Kyle had dived behind it and, of course, it was Michael. "Hey Unc what's up" Maze knew she spat that out way too quickly for him not to find it suspicious. "I've got the snacks you wanted... what's going on" Michael looked behind maze but couldn't see anything out of the ordinary. "Nothing, nothing's up. I was just getting ready to settle down and order some food. It's been a really long day." She played it off the best she could but wasn't sure if he was buying it. "Uh huh if you say so.. you're okay though, right?" Michael had to reassure himself that everything was okay before he could think of leaving her to go meet his old friend for dinner. Maze side eyed Kyle laughing silently behind the door. She rolled her eyes which quickly shut him up. "I'm sure unc, everything is okay. I'm just hungry and sleepy". Maze gave him a reassuring smile and, luckily, it was enough for Michael to nod his head and pass her the bag of snacks he had brought her. "Right, I'm going to go, make sure you eat something other than sugar and text me before crashing out for the night" he gave Maze a quick hug and left before she noticed the tears building up in his eyes. She closed the door and let out a sigh of relief. "You could have got me in trouble, you know that?!" She was furious and wanted him to know that, but the only problem was he wasn't there. 'Where the fcuk did he go?'.
