Carl looked at WG with hatred in his eyes. “This is none of your business, he hissed.
“Oh, but it is,” WG answered calmly.
“Stay out of this!” Carl was clearly not going to let WG stop him.
“You’re threatening my assistant. That makes it my business. Please leave,” continued WG in his deep calm voice.
And that’s when Carl decided to attack. In an instant he launched himself at WG, trying to knock him out with a right hook.
I am not sure how well you know Will Grimes’ work, reader. Because he does his own stunts, he is more than well-trained. He’s fit, his reflexes fast and he is well versed in several martial arts.
Carl was simply not in the same league. Yes, he did exercise and he was fit, but nowhere near WG’s fitness level. Carl attacking was beyond stupid - and it leads to nothing good.
WG simply sidestepped Carl, lifted Carl up, and carried him out of the apartment.
“Please don’t come back,” WG said before closing and locking the door.
We could hear Carl throwing himself at the door. He pressed the doorbell several times, but then I heard voices outside and Carl seemed to disappear. For now.
I was so thankful for being saved from Carl, but also deeply embarrassed that it was necessary to save me. I was overwhelmed by my feelings and started crying.
“No need to worry, security’s got him now,” WG said soothingly and produced a tissue.
I could not stop the tears streaming down my cheeks. How could WG be so perfectly nice to me, who he did not even know?
“If you don’t mind me asking, what was that all about!” WG looked at me with compassion on his strong handsome face.
Somehow, I managed to pull myself together and wipe tears from my cheeks. I stopped crying but did not want to give away all the details.
“Umm…well…we kinda just broke up and I went to fetch some clothes while he was away. Guess he got upset when he saw it,” was the explanation I managed to blurt out.
“Will you still be able to work for us?” He looked at me with kind eyes and I eagerly assured him that I would.
“Ok. You can call me Will and I expect you to make coffee and lunch.”
I looked at him terrified and he laughed. “I take my coffee black and I eat almost anything,” he winked at me. I giggled and started on my first coffee for Will.
Four days passed and I kept busy. Christine and Will would work in her office or in his hotel suite from early to late. They were plotting out a comedy series, as far as I understood, about a martial arts champion and his family. I enjoyed listening to them talking about plot details or sitting down writing out some idea.
I was kept busy running errands. Making or getting coffee or lunch, googling for info, cleaning up their papers, getting stuff they suddenly realized they needed… Basically, I was just running around doing all sorts of big or small things.
Will, as it turned out, was a really great guy. We would chat casually over lunch or he would call me in to the office to listen to some idea. He made me feel like he appreciated my input, and butterflies filled my stomach every time we spoke. I felt there was a connection between us, but I also scolded myself for being silly. He was not in the habit of hooking up with fans and I was sure he was not about to start with me.
The fifth day arrived and they would be working at Christine’s. Luke was away for some court case, so it was only the three of us for the day.
I got up early, took my time in the shower, and put on some skinny jeans and a nice t-shirt. I had oats for breakfast and made sure there was plenty of strong coffee ready before Will arrived. I had learned that he needed quite a few mugs of coffee to start his day.
He came into the kitchen, sniffing the air. “Sally, it smells divine in here! Where did you learn to make the perfect coffee?” He smiled and winked at me and I couldn’t help giggling.
“It’s a magic trick, no big deal,” I said and we both laughed.
“ What’s so funny,” Christine asked as she entered the kitchen.
“Apparently you’ve hired a witch fir me.” Will winked at me and I giggled again.
“Yeah, sorry about that,” Christine smiled and reached for her mug of coffee. She looked a bit pale, but her smile reassured me she was fine.
They disappeared into the office while I stared longing after them. I cleaned up after us and tried to decide what to get for lunch. I had discovered that Will craved sandwiches, though his management had put it on the NO GO list. He explained that they were just looking out for him and did not want him to do too much carb loading. He was running every afternoon and doing some other training before dinner, so I was pretty sure he would burn it all off.
Christine came into the kitchen quietly. “Ugh, I’ve got such a headache. Will just told me to rest for a couple of hours. I’ll be in my room, but will you come to wake me in an hour and a half?”
“Sure, I said.” I guess it wasn’t easy working with a celebrity. Christine always put much pressure on herself, but this time she added even more than usual. I was worried about her and glad that Will gave her a break. She went to her room and I went back to deciding on lunch options.
Will came walking casually into the kitchen, a smile on his face. “We’re taking a small break,” he said. His beautiful eyes had a playful look as he came up to me. “Deciding on lunch options?”
“Umm…yeah.” My body still reacted instantly when he was near and I almost had to hold myself back from him. There was a delightful musky smell around him that stirred my body.
“Please make one of your delicious sandwiches,” he said, stretching out his hand to remove a loose hair from my shoulder. He was standing close to my e, our bodies almost touching. His red lips looked so tempting. Before I could stop myself, I was leaning in for a kiss.
