Encountering the Mysterious Azure Vine.

906 Words
Zhu Yuan's utterly unprepared body tumbled down to fall face first on a cool stone floor. "What in the blue heavens!" He cursed as he scrambled up looking for his perceived assailant to find none. His eyes quickly scanned his surroundings. Zhu Yuan found himself in a narrow uneven stone tunnel that resembled the rock he has just been leaning over. "I'm I inside the rock??" He looked behind him in haste only to find the tunnel had thinned out sharply sealing itself into a thin crevice just a few centimetres long. Not even his little finger could pass through. Cursing Zhu Yuan turned back and looked ahead at the rugged dimly lit stone tunnel. The tunnel itself widened as it continued on and on sloping downwards with no end in sight. It looked like there was only one route to take. Zhu Yuan began his slow descent his eyes and ears on high alert. A few kilometres down the tunnel seemed to have no end. But meeting no threats his confidence rose little by little and he quickened his steps as his body was bathed completely in the mysterious azure light that grew stronger and stronger the deeper he travelled. Five kilometres, Ten kilometres. The azure light got brighter and brighter. It filled his eyes, heart and soul. He could feel it calling out to him. And he obliged. After walking for so long Zhu Yuan saw an entrance ahead of him. This must be the center of the mountain. Zhu Yuan calculated. As he passed through the entrance, the azure light shined it brightest. Zhu Yuan found himself standing at the entrance of the hugest cave he had ever seen in his entire life. The Red Eagle Clan's Supreme Elders  town castle , the grandest building in the town was like a mere toy in front of this cave. The cave radiated in the purest of azure light. As he gazed across the underground cave the astonished Zhu Yuan could not tell if it was day or night. He felt as if he was standing upon the limitless most perfect sky looking down on the entire Celestial Sky Continent. He himself  felt he was akin to a speck of dust before this boundless pure azure essence. Then he saw it. At the very center of the enormous cave a small azure vine about twenty centimetres throbbed with the purest azure essence. It twirled and danced in its own azure light sending pulses and pulses of azure essence through out the entire cave. It was the source of it all. Amazed beyond words Zhu Yuan stood there for a long time watching the azure vine's dance. How could something so miniscule hold so much power, he wondered. Nothing else grew in the entire cave. Nothing else was near it. It was as if nothing was pure enough to go near its divine essence. Zhu Yuan felt his body begin to move slowly. Nearer and nearer he approached. He did not will himself forward nor did he will himself to stop. Astounded did not even begin to describe what he was feeling. He felt that he had gone into a trance like state. In this state Zhu Yuan neared the Divine Azure Vine until he was within touching distance. The cool azure essence bathed his body and soul cleansing his heart. His spirit felt unreal and within it was a deep sense of peace that he had never experienced before. Zhu Yuan's body slowly crouched and his right arm slowly rose. His index finger finally touched the Divine Azure Vine for the first time. The feeling it gave him was cool and ethereal. The softest feathers and the most delicate of flowers could not compare. The Divine Azure Vine trembled and Zhu Yuan's heart and soul trembled with it. Then it disappeared. Zhu Yuan's pupils shrank but he could not will himself to move. His index finger became the deepest colour of azure. It spread  to all his fingers, his hand and soon his whole body became a deep hue of pure azure blue. Zhu Yuan's entire body throbbed with azure essence, it filled every cell, follicle and even his eyes shone blue. He could only hope that it wasn't poisonous because at this point he would be beyond dead. But he felt no viciousness from the essence at all. Only a gentle all encompassing power. Zhu Yuan's mind suddenly became blank, all his thoughts were extinguished by a gentle vast power. Then slowly his mind was filled with a vast endless azure world. Zhu Yuan's minds eye roamed this vast world inside him. He could not see its end. His intuition told him that  all that endless vastness he had managed to perceive at that moment was but a mere speck of the true vastness that world contained. What Zhou Yuan did not know at that moment that what had formed inside him was the famed Spiritual World. But he who had not even opened a single meridian was not supposed to have one as it only appeared when one reached the peak of the Divine Master Realm. Suddenly Zhu Yuan felt his mind and body become overwhelmed. His sight became dizzy and his consciousness was slowly slipping. Zhu Yuan slumped down on the cold stone floor. He felt his body become light and as he finally lost consciousness he felt as if he was floating above the vast skies. The cave surrounding him slowly lost its azure splendor and before long it became a world filled with nothing but darkness. ****
