"You cheated on Mom," I say. "How can you say you've changed?" He steps forward, confused. "I would never cheat on your mother." "I saw you." "I love her," he says. "Why would I cheat on someone I love?" "Stop lying." I can feel the anger I've worked so hard to control start to make its way up my throat. "Just stop!"
