At breakfast, Taky can't stop gushing over Dad. He's only ever met him through brief Facetime calls, even more charming in person. Mom remains quiet but clutches her coffee, mulling this over. She doesn't look as anxious as when Dad first showed up, which means his "redemption" is working, "When are we starting therapy?" I ask. "I think you were right; it will be good for us." Mom looks surprised, and I don't blame her. Therapy is the last thing I want to have to do right now, but if it means stopping her from making a huge mistake, I'll go.
