Sitting outside on the swing, I stared at the stars when Gareth came walking through the door.
“Evening Alpha.” He sounded serious.
“Hmmm that sounds ominous, but okay. Evening Gareth.” I watched as he walked over to the banister and leaned against it, blocking my view of the stars. His head down, he took a deep breath, as if trying to calm his nerves before saying anything.
“If you are here to tell me you have broken your promise and mated with Glinda … you had better be ready to run! Mate or no mate.” I hated it when people wouldn’t just spit out why they were looking for me. He blushed so clearly that I could see it in the moonlight.
