Riley’s pov
After I was escorted from the dining hall, the staff led me back toward Xavier's room. Confusion must have been clear on my face, but not wanting to put her in trouble, I simply smiled and followed her down the hallway. When we reached the door, she told me she’d grab a change of clothes for me… something comfortable to sleep in—and then she left. I watched her disappear before I opened the door and walked into the room, shutting it behind me.
I was still reeling from everything that had happened. Part of me just wanted to go home, but it was late, and I knew arguing with the Lockwood triplets wouldn’t get me anywhere. They weren’t the kind of people I wanted to cross, especially tonight. I’d already been through so much.
