I ran, my heart pounding harder than it ever had before. Fear thumped through my veins, making each breath feel like fire in my chest. The sounds around me sharpened as my senses stayed locked on whatever was chasing me. I didn’t know what it was, but I knew one thing: it wasn’t stopping. ‘Keep running,’ I told myself. ‘Don’t look back. Just keep going’
I’d just shifted for the second time, my wolf instincts taking over. Without this speed, without this strength, I’d have no chance. But even with it, I wasn’t sure I’d be able to outrun what was after me. Each step felt like a blur, each turn a desperate leap toward freedom.
