Riley's POV
A chill ran down my spine as I entered the room, the blood in my veins turning to ice. There, standing ominously beside my mother’s bed, was a huge, tall man with a broad build. His muscles rippled beneath a doctor’s costume, but the image was far from comforting. As he turned fully toward me, the black mask obscuring his face made my heart leap into my throat. The sight of the empty syringe in his hands only worsened my fear, a silent threat hanging heavy in the air.
“What.. what have you done?!” I whispered shakily, my voice trembling as terror gripped me.
His posture radiated raw power, every inch of him exuding predatory intent. His eyes, glowing a menacing shade of red, bore into me with a look that sent a shiver cascading down my spine. There was a terrifying hunger in his gaze, a burning rage that seemed barely contained. His lips curled back, revealing sharp, glistening fangs, and a low, rumbling growl emanated from deep within his throat. It was clear.. that this was no ordinary man. He was a powerful werewolf, and my weak wolf and I stood no chance against him. But despite the odds, I was ready to do anything to protect my mother, even if it meant sacrificing my life.
“I will never let you harm my mother!” I yelled, my voice firm despite the quiver of fear running through me. My eyes blazed with fury as I lunged toward him without a second thought, my fists clenched at my sides, ready to strike.
As I drew closer, I raised my hand to attack, but before I could land a blow, a sharp pain exploded in my chest. His fist had connected with me in a solid punch, knocking the wind out of me. A scream tore from my throat as I crashed to the floor with a sickening thud, pain radiating through my body.
“What the hell do you want from us?” I cried out, my voice thick with emotion. “Did they pay you to finally end our lives? Haven’t they done enough? They took everything from us, and now they want our lives too?” Tears blurred my vision as I glared up at him, the rage in my eyes meeting his cold, predatory stare. His eyes darkened further, and he looked at me like I was nothing more than prey, his jaw clenching tightly in anger.
“Don’t you dare touch me!” I screamed, desperately scooting back with my hands and butt as he began to advance on me, each slow step he took filled with deadly intent. His eyes pierced into me like he could read my every thought, every fear. The closer he got, the faster my heart pounded. Panic surged within me as my back slammed into the wall, a brutal reminder that there was nowhere left to run.
My body trembled uncontrollably as his massive form towered over me, his furious, piercing eyes locking onto mine. My breath caught in my throat, and tears welled up in my eyes as his huge arms started to descend toward my face. A scream ripped from my mouth, loud and desperate, a plea for help I wasn’t sure would come.
Suddenly, the sound of the door bursting open filled the room. My eyes flew open just as a doctor and two security men rushed in, their expressions grim, their weapons drawn, and their stances alert.
“Imposter!” I yelled, pointing my finger at him, my voice trembling with fury. But as I turned to face him again, my eyes widened in shock— he was already halfway across the hospital room, moving with impossible speed.
My heart raced as I watched him sprint toward the window, his massive frame colliding with the glass. The impact shattered the window, sending shards flying as the glass fell apart. The two security men reacted instantly, rushing toward him, but before they could grab hold, he jumped through the broken window, disappearing into thin air like a ghost.
The security men raced to the door, determined to pursue him, while the doctor approached me. I was still slumped against the wall, my body trembling from the encounter. He offered me his hand, his eyes filled with concern and worry.
“Are you alright, Miss Davis?” he asked, his voice gentle as he reached out to help me up.
I took his hand, wincing in pain as I stood. “I’m perfectly fine, doctor, but I doubt my mother is,” I replied, my voice tight with panic. Without wasting another second, I rushed to my mother’s side, fear clawing at my insides.
The doctor gently placed a hand on my shoulder, his tone firm yet kind. “Miss Davis, please wait outside for a few minutes while I examine Mrs. Davis.”
I hesitated, torn between staying by my mother’s side and following the doctor’s instructions. My heart ached with fear, but I knew I had to trust him. “Doctor, please don’t hide anything from me. I’ll just be outside the door, waiting,” I said, my voice laced with worry as I reluctantly stepped out of the room.

I paced back and forth restlessly, my heart pounding against my chest. My eyes kept darting to my wristwatch, counting every agonizing second. It had been over an hour since the doctor took a sample of my mother’s blood for testing, but there was still no word.
“What if my mother has been injected with an incurable disease for werewolves?” The terrifying thought gnawed at me, driving me to the brink of madness. “Who could want my mother dead? She has done no wrong to anyone,” I thought, my anxiety mounting as I continued to pace the hallway.
“Miss Davis.” The doctor’s voice cut through my thoughts, startling me. I spun around to face him, desperation clear in my eyes.
“Doctor, is there any news? Is my mother okay? What did that monster do to her?” My voice cracked as tears welled up in my eyes, the fear and uncertainty overwhelming me.
The doctor sighed deeply, his expression grave as he handed me a white envelope. I snatched it from his hands, frantically tearing it open. My eyes scanned the contents, but the medical jargon was indecipherable. The confusion in my eyes must have been evident, as the doctor began to explain.
“According to these lab results, your mother has been injected with a potent substance designed to erase her memories. I’m so sorry, Miss Davis, but every memory Mrs. Davis has had for the past ten years has been wiped clean,” he said solemnly, his voice heavy with sympathy.
“No…No, that can’t be true!” I cried out, my voice breaking as tears streamed down my face. “Why would anyone be that cruel?” The thought tore through me like a knife, the pain almost too much to bear. “What secret could she possibly have that would make anyone want to do this to her?” I wondered, my mind racing as I slumped to the floor, my body shaking with sobs.
