Riley’s pov The morning started just like the last one. The whispers, the stares, the muffled laughter. I thought it would die down after the first day, but I was wrong. As I walked down the hallway toward my classroom, I could still feel eyes burning into my back. I tried to ignore it, pretending not to hear the murmurs as I hurried along. By the time I reached the classroom door, my chest felt tight. I inhaled deeply, trying to calm my nerves. Stepping into the room didn't make it any better, if anything, it was worse.
