--Gardia, Chronodia Household, 0840 hours-- *knock* *knock* The door to my room sounded. Someone’s gently knocking the door… this is too early in the morning… *knock* *knock* *knock* Another round of knocks… good god, who the hell is it? I force my sleepy eyes to open. Ooh… it feels like my eyelids weigh over a ton. I’m still tired from yesterday’s trip. Shortly, I realize that there are voices beyond the door. I wonder who it is. *crreaaaak… The door opened gently. Shortly, a lady with dark red maid outfit entered my room. She wears a pair of glasses. She is quite tall for a lady, a tall stature about 170 cm. It appears she’s going to wake me up. Oh, by the way, I’m still lying down on this king-sized bed because I’m too lazy to lift my body. She walked in a gentle manner, stepping closer to me. I let my eyelids drop as fast as a broken pulley, trying to pretend sleeping again. Although, I AM still sleepy, to be honest… … “Miss Chronodia, morning has risen. It’s time to wake up.” “Hmm… erm… ooh… hm…?” I make my voice sounded like a person that was having an insomniac night. Half asleep into waking up, the maid says something again. “Come on, now, Missy. Breakfast is ready at the dining room. Master and Mistress are waiting for you.” Eh, breakfast? Elegantly, she walks into near the large curtains in the room. Let me guess… *Shrack! Strangely as I think it is. The sunrays strike down to me as soon as the curtain unveiled. How strange, the sun has risen quite high, what time is it, now? I lazily veered my eyes to the big clock in my room, the time appears to be at… uh… forty? No-no, that’s not it… the minute hand, is pointing at nine… and the hour hand… Oh. It’s 08.45?! I reflectively jumped out of bed because I realized this is WAY too far from my supposed wake time. “No way, I’m late! I must go quickly— granny’s gonna be so angry for dismissing breakfast— “Whoa! Miss Chronodia, please calm down, you’re not late for breakfast.” The maid quickly calmed me down. Ouch, that’s embarrassing. “Eh? Ahhhh….” I grabbed my head and ducked down. Mixed feelings start drawing within me, confusion, dizziness, and embarrassment. I forgot I still suffer from anemia, my blood level was deficient recently, and then I forgot that I was no longer in granny’s apartment. I usually woke up around five, and here, I woke up as nearly as nine o’clock. It was four hours distance from my usual woke time. “Oww… my head still hurts…” I moaned in dizziness. The maid tried to pick me back up standing. “My, my… you shouldn’t stand up all of sudden, milady.” She counseled me. Huh… ‘milady’… what a title to say to a lesser person like me. Anyway, due to me having a dizziness problem, I cannot stand around for too long. Geez… this is annoying. The only way for me to reduce the dizzy is by sticking my head down on the pillow. The maid later introduced her name. She told me that her name is Aria. Whew… what a pretty name. She helped me wash myself, changing clothes, and more. I feel like I’m an old lady that requires all the help possible, being helped doing basic things due to me unable to work my body too hard. While bathing, the gear mark on my chest makes me feel uncomfortable whenever I saw it in the mirror. “Am I a machine now? No—maybe, I’m a machine all this time.” I thought to myself. Turning my attention to the maid, I apologize to her, “Forgive me for being a burden, Miss Aria…” “Don’t mention it, Miss Chronodia. Your health is more important than anything, come on, now. Let’s go to the dining room, Master and Mistress is waiting for you.” She stated gently. Her elegant yet gentle attitude makes me feel guilty even more, goodness me. Aria picked me an incredibly rich-looking dress to wear. The cloth surface is unbelievably soft, comfy, and warm. The light-red color makes it look attractive to see. I never wore this kind of cloth before, sigh… most of my clothes comprised of cheap simple clothing that can be found in a small weaving shop anywhere in Helmington. We walked side-by-side to the dining room. I doubt it’s a dining room, to be honest. Since when a dining room is as large as a ballroom, I wonder. “Took you some time to wake up, eh, honey? Have a seat here.” Mom called me and told me to sit next to her. She’s sitting beside dad. They’ve yet to take breakfast. Geez, were they waiting for me? Aria pulled the lavish chair and lets me sit on it. I got confused, to be honest, what’s with this many spoons and forks? Not only that, why do I have to wear a handkerchief beneath my neck? In front of me, the maids had served us foods. And yes, the food are no different, they’re insanely luxurious for me. “Okay, Eva. No need to stiff off, mow it down!” my dad said cheerfully. “Is it okay?” I asked. “Well, who else will finish it if not us?” My mom said smilingly. “You don’t like it?” “No, it’s just that… I find it kind of… odd.” I feel like being inside a different world… almost everything around me is new to me. To be honest, I don’t think the luxuriousness can be fitting for me. Shortly, I shake my heads a bunch of times. Oh, what the hell am I thinking?! These expensive foods are in front of me, I’m being served some top-notch cuisines for FREE! Without further ado, I voraciously ate the breakfast. I mean, come on! I won’t be able to afford this high-quality food. I mustn’t let it slip aside. I will eat it all! My dad and mom chuckles as they saw me mowing down the food, I smiled at them and continued eating again. Food is always number one! I heard rich people had table manners, but it turns out that dad and mom doesn’t care about it. He even ate in the same speed as I do, even faster. Well, I’m not gonna lie, the food had strange taste to it but it is incredibly delicious and appetizing! … A few minutes later… After having my belly’s gluttonizing need fulfilled, I realized that the handkerchief was to wipe my mouth off from food leftovers. Dad told me to continue resting again on my room, I quickly yessed him and headed back to my room after washing my hands accompanied by Aria. Upon reaching my room, I finally realized something. “What am I going to do, now…?” Oops, I forgot it. Was blood loss causing me to easily forget something? Meh, putting that aside, I realized that I couldn’t go with my hobby for the time being... I leapt onto the comfy bed. Thinking of what am I supposed to do… shortly, Aria offered me a pack of books to read—probably a novel—for me. I happily accepted her offer and start reading. Just starting to read, I felt dizzy all of sudden. It doesn’t look like I can focus reading normally… Ooh… this is going to be boring. … .. . My expectations age well. It is true. It is GODDAMN boring! Several days have passed, and I repeatedly doing completely nothing on my bed. I did nothing productive most of the time—although usually I didn’t. I understand by doing so, my mom and dad can watch over me without worrying too much. They nurtured me with great care and treated my anemia problem. The output of it was that I can stand and walk without getting too dizzy. But still, up till now, not able to go anywhere is just outrageous. The next day, I just realized that I left off the brooch for some time now… so I decided to check the box that’s filled with my goods under Aria’s permission. I dug wildly inside the box as if I’m digging up trash. “Aha! Found it!” I said it out loud. “Thank god it’s still here… it’s still in one piece…” “I see you’ve found what you need, Miss Chronodia. Well done,” Aria congratulated me. “If I may know what it is— “Eep! U-Um… this is err…” Shoot, I forgot the maid was still here. What should I do? what should I do? If she found out this belongs to one of the meisters, I’m done for! “T-This is… oh, you know…!” I said in a sweat. I hid the thing behind me while trying to talk my way out. Aria stared at me seriously. Please don’t look at me like that! Please! Unexpectedly, she suddenly bows down to me and says, “Pardon for my negligence, Miss Chronodia.” “Eh?” I retorted in confusion. “I should’ve known ladies of your age would love to collect something important and private. I will not ask further, milady.” Aria walks out of the room without saying another word. I don’t know why or what’s she’s trying to say to me but as long as she didn’t know about the thing in my hand then it’s alright. I hope. By the way, I found the object I’m looking for. It’s the brooch that has red and black color belonged to a meister before… I failed to give it back to the meister because of an unexpected turn of fate. “When am I going to return this piece to him…?” I wailed. “From what I read back in Helmington, meisters will surely go in and out of their main headquarters in the capital city…” Hold on… hold up, hang on a sec! This city, it is Gardia, right?! Gardia city, the capital of Augzeria! It is the home to the Crimson Meisters! Excited to know more, I call the maid in a hurry, “Aria, Aria! Come quickly!” A second later, she arrived on the door, “Milady, is there something bothering you?” she asked. “Aria, Gardia is home to the Crimson Meister organization, right? RIGHT?!” I asked excitedly as if I’m going to blow up because of my crazy self. “Y-Yes, that’s correct,” She nodded. Hearing her confirming it, I clench my fists while silently saying “Yay!” in my heart. Perfect! This is it. I might be able to find that meister from before that dropped his important brooch! Ooh… I must start looking! But wait, I have no idea about how the streets in the city were like… I could’ve lost in the first T-junction. Oh, right, a map will do the trick! I can easily read maps. Suddenly, Aria purposefully coughs, “Ahem!” “Yes? Yes? What? What?” I reflected asking in surprise. In limitless elegance, she warns me, “Miss Chronodia… whatever you’re planning to do, if you’re willing to go outside of the household, may I ask you to abort it? Master and Mistress made a restriction for you to leave the manor until you’re completely healed.” She explained. “But, Miss Aria…” I wailed at her. “Forgive me for being harsh but this is an order from Master and Mistress.” She stated solidly. Shucks. Dad and mom had noticed my hobby, huh? AAAH! If only my magecraft won’t kill me… I can’t wait for any longer inside this shell of boredom, I want to get out and see the city! I did say I don’t want to burden my parents. That’s why I will do it discreetly. But the only problem here is… how am I going to get out of here? I believe I’m quite healthy and stable to walk around the streets by now, but dad and mom wanted me to stay in here for longer. Let’s see the details of guard in the area. There’s Mr. Champs guarding the front gate, not to mention the maids that worked at night time. Also, Sir Al-Qadim might be on the patrol. I dare say he has some powerful magecraft. I’m not so sure, but I had feelings that he’s a mage of some sort. *DING* Ouoh! I have an awesome plan! … .. . --Gardia, Chronodia Household, 0003 hours-- During midnight, I woke up to find my metal belt and my silver gloves. Because those are the tools I need to stably control my magecraft. It’s like a catalyst for my magecraft. I intent to activate my magecraft, although I’m risking my own life by doing so… This might be suicide, but some sacrifice must be made! I disliked doing nothing here, it’s in my nature to explore and stroll around. Without further ado, I wore the equipment and about to start chanting inside my large bedroom. Okay, then… Here g-g-g-goes…
