--Rozenflame Academy, 1504 hours--
…
“…the color and the shape of a Red Ruby… is the highest and rarest possible result in magical affinity index…”
“W-What…?!”
“…not only that… no one has ever been to that result in this academy. You’re the first one to reach it, Miss Eva!”
“…eh?”
“Hold up! That’s… CRAZY!”
…
As what Nirva stated back then… I am on the highest level in terms of magical affinity… didn’t expect that though… honestly.
After a few talk, she gave me a tour of Madame Rozenflame—or Mrs. Arc’s academy. It was a shocking to me that the academy was filled with only less than twenty students. I thought there were only Nirva and Mrs. Arc in here, though.
Despite her tiny stature, Nirva can explain to me in detail about every corner of this building, classes, practical rooms, even magically infused rooms. She spoke in a very soft voice, yet understandable. I’m impressed by her skills, not gonna lie.
“Um… Nirva?”
“Yes, Miss Eva?” she replied softly.
“I’m sorry but how old are you?” I asked. I knew she’s waaaay younger than me, but I’ve no idea how old was she.
“Eleven.” She raised both of her index fingers.
Whoa-whoa-whoa… ELEVEN?! She was gifted the power of magic even at the age of eleven? Not only that, she told me that she was a powerful one, too. Heheh… while me in the age twelve… I realized that I caused a ball to stop midair—only to realize that it was my capability to stop the time, and in that time, I wasn’t even training the magic till I was fourteen.
“And… this one is my room,” she stated.
“Oh!” I said excitingly, “can I come in?”
“Um…” she holds her hand against her chin.
“Madame Rozenflame stated that none are allowed to enter my room except her and myself… so…” she stated softly and with a rather reluctance.
“I see; no problem.”
“B-But maybe I could—“
“Nirva.”
“Hngh!” She flinched at the gloomy voice that called her.
Uh-oh, it’s Mrs. Arc…!
“What did I tell you before?” she asked gently.
“…” Nirva looked down to her shoes.
“Sigh… please don’t forget that, Nirva. You can leave now.”
“Yes, Madame.” She yessed her and walked away. I saw a glimpse of her saddening face. Oddly, she closed her eyes again.
…
“Madame, why act so cold in front of her? Wasn’t she your apprentice, too?” I asked.
“It’s not your business.” She stated. “By the way, I have to say… that your test results are… quite surprising.” Mrs. Arc added.
“Eehehe…”
“But it’s just the first… nothing more than that. It only means that you’ve got potential. Not only that, the Dark Abyss can give misinformation about potency of newcomers, keep that in mind.”
“O-Oh… I s-see.”
“If what you experienced in the Dark Abyss troubled both physically and mentally, then I suggest you to stop at once.”
“W-Wha—no! I’m fine.”
“Ho… even after getting swallowed by the darkness and nearly failed to return back you’d say you’re fine, huh?” she grinned at me from her tallness.
“Eh? You knew what happened?” I curiously asked.
“I don’t know why the Dark Abyss returned you to the front of the room’s door in a blink of an eye. I don’t sense any magical activity going on or whatsoever, so I expect that the Dark Abyss was giving wrong information.”
“Very well, then… if you wish to continue, then I’d kindly welcome you to learn here. That is if you dare… hee-hee.” She turned around and walked away. Somehow I couldn’t hear her footsteps.
Suddenly she stopped midway and turned her head halfway, “Oh, I nearly forgotten.”
“About what…?”
“Don’t get too attached to that young girl.” She said frowningly.
“W-Why? She’s not a bad person or anything…”
“You know nothing of her.” She slightly angered. “…don’t get too attached to her—“
“Are you threatening me, Madame?” I cutted her speech,
“It’s more like a warning… You do have guts to speak up to me like that, eh?”
“Ah—no, I didn’t mean to be rude…”
Both of our eyes looked into each other. Her eyes felt like staring directly into my soul, my legs could be seen slightly trembling. After a few moments, she blinked once.
“Hmph… an interesting fella you are. But no worries, I won’t kick you outta here because of your daring personality, instead, I like impulsive fools.” She leaned closer to me.
She shifted her head up close to my ears…
“Let’s see how long you last.”
The hair on my neck rose high into the sky. It feels like an electrical shock coursing to my entire body when I hear her saying that. FRIDGES! I can’t stop trembling, this is no good, she’s scary-scary-scary-super scary!
She walked away with a grin on her face.
Truly… that woman is giving me the creeps.

--Rozenflame Academy, Front Door, 1600 hours—
I’m waiting at the front of the academy’s building. Hardly for me to say that this is an actual academy, though. Momentarily as I wait, my father’s car raided the road in front of me. He gently opened the car’s door and walked casually to me.
“Yo, Eva,” he called me smilingly.
“Ahhh…” I dropped my weight onto my dad’s sturdy standing body. I am VERY tired, especially going through all those thingamajigs.
“Whoop, ohohoh… tired aren’t ya?” he asked casually while holding my body on his chest.
“Hm.” I nodded slightly.
“I see… you’ve done a good job today. Now, let’s go home.” He patted my head, all sorts of tiredness starting to flow away from me when he did that.
So we headed back home in a jiffy.
“So how’s Mrs. Arc in your eyes, hm?” my dad asked.
“Very odd,” I quickly answered.
“Whew, fast and simple explanation, huh?” he replied.
“I dunno what’s in her mind… she’s super weird, you know?”
“That’s what’cha get from an experienced magician, haha!” my dad laughed as he drove the car into the busy streets.
“Ueh…” I pouted.
“BUT! You’ll get to understand her pretty soon. Don’t worry,” he ensured me.
“Understand… her… huh?” I whispered.
“After how she spoke to me before…” I thought to myself. I can’t tell my dad I dared going up against her. I believe he’ll be angry, although he’s not the type to get angry.
…
..
.
“Oh, yeah… so how’s your first test?” dad asked smilingly.
“Huh… not so bad, I guess…” I replied lazily as I lean back on the hard seat. “Hold on… dad, you know about the first test?” I asked dad softly but my eyes are staring coldly into him.
“Uh,” he yessed, “Of course, I knew about it. Hm. Hm. Whassrong with that?” he soared happily.
“Dad…” I had my hands grabbing the front row seats side-by-side.
“Yes, honey?”
…
“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME ABOUT IT EARLIER, YOU MORON?!?!”
“Ooomph, stop shouting! Calm down, dear!”
“HOW CAN I CALM DOWN?”
“By sitting back, of course *wink* hehe.”
“DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!”
“Yawhawhawhaw! Get ahold of yourself, dearie, I can’t drive the car normally!”
“Besides, you didn’t ask me about it either, so why I bother telling?!”
“O-Oh.”
My rampaging scream that could’ve caused an eruption cools down below zero in a second. What my dad told was unfortunately right, why didn’t I ask about it?
Oh, yeah… I was too excited about going outside. Damn, fridges.
…
Later on the road, I remained silent until we reached the manor house. After welcomed by Sir Champs, dad asks again,
“So? Wanna know about the next test or what?” he asked kindly.
“N-No, thanks,” I had my arms crossed and my body stayed in the corner against the door.
“Huh… don’t get all down just because of that, it’s not like I’m gonna transform into a hellish warmonger , j’know?”
“…hm.” I nodded slightly. I felt bad for screaming moron at him now…
Aaaagh! Why remorse always comes in the end? Goddammit!
Sigh…
